The Noisy Now

Sound Waves From MouthThe Noisy Now – demanding, resounding, and LOUD.

It’s an atmosphere built upon words, and words and more words. People constantly talking, about everything and at the same time about nothing. Spend any amount of time on social media and the Noisy Now demands attention. In fact, not only does it demand attention, it makes me feel that if I don’t listen, or watch, or comment or like………….I WILL MISS OUT, BE LEFT OUT. What then? Is it necessary to always be in the mix? I don’t think so. God IS the mix and wherever I am, He is. So I don’t take my cues by the Noisy Now but from all that I glean in the silence of His presence.

If I let it, the Noisy Now manipulates me into its path intent on capturing my time. Live videos, urgent posts, pictures – before I know it, an hour flies by, then two and three. It tries to imprisons me in the grasp of its insignificant sound.

Social media has overstepped its bounds in my life so I pulled the plug, giving it no attention whatsoever unless it serves my purpose. No more entitled people, bent on arguments and constant streaming of every last thought, coming into my head. Out! Out!

This all started when I looked down my news feed on Facebook and actually got stressed out by all that I was seeing. Whether I agreed with it or not, I was tired of it all. It was as if unless I checked into the Noisy Now each and every day, my life would fade into oblivion  or lack significance. This is a dangerous place to be where I blend into every sound that is coming down the line. I will lose my voice here and I will be nothing more than an echo of all that is going on around me. No! No more!

There’s an undercurrent flowing under this noisy now. It seems that we want to be listened to, for someone to show us that our life matters. When it gets to the point where all the noise distracts me, using up precious time, I retreat into silence, into intimacy with Jesus Christ. I value alone time, silence. This is my message of impartation to those younger than me. Be quiet, get alone with Jesus to find yourself, to find out who you are and why you were born into such a time as this.

The Noisy Now is not something I want to get used to, not at all. I don’t want to be a hermit but I want to treasure silence with as much expectation as when I click on every link or picture in social media, hoping it will take me on a new adventure. It doesn’t do that but Jesus will – in the silence.

img_7240This is a message that I want to get across to a younger generation – to get away, to think. Thinking is good for the soul. As a Christian, meditation builds up and strengthens my spirit. I live in the spirit, not in the noise. Life in the spirit contradicts the noise. How can I get any direction for my life without meditative silence where I can think and hear Him?

Times of intimacy with Jesus preserves my sanity, strengthens me, and builds up my identity and faith. Quiet purges away the distractions, setting me on a path to walk in clarity of mind and strength of spirit.

There are whirlwinds of endless words trying to carry me away into confusion or distraction. In silence I gain wisdom and understanding about my life. To my younger brothers and sisters…….unplug and tune into Jesus and the Holy Spirit. In His presence are wisdom, peace, guidance, and direction.

Jesus calls us away, to come apart to spend time with Him. Be still and know that He is God. Don’t be swept away by the Noisy Now.Be still.

It’s Time To Choose

Heart on timeline

When I hear a prophetic word that confirms what I am also hearing in my spirit, I meditate on it for a few days. I go over it a little at a time.  Holy Spirit speaks to me about how it applies to my life.

I stood at this intersection (referred to in this word)  for the past few months, paralyzing my forward movement. It suddenly dawned on me that God called me to trust Him in greater ways, moving in radical faith through obedience to His directions.

This word that I share with you today brought life into my spirit, freeing me from confusion and worry about our next move. I pray it also blesses you.

It’s Time To Choose
Garris Elkins

You are standing at an intersection trying to choose which way to go. You have reduced your life down to this single decision. It has stalled your forward progress. The stalling reveals a flaw in your understanding of God’s heart. This is not a decision about you following Jesus. You have already made that decision. You are on His right path. This is a lesser decision you should not give equal importance to like the decision you made to follow Jesus.

This decision is intended to be a learning experience. You are about to learn something profound about God’s heart for you. God is not nervous about the choice you will eventually make. He wants to use that decision to draw our your untapped courage and deepen your trust in Him.

As this word came to me, the Lord took me higher like I was gaining altitude in a helicopter. I flew over the place of your decision. What you now stand it does look like a fork in the road with two distinctly different paths. From Heaven’s perspective it looks very different. Viewing from above, I was able to see off in the distance. In the future these two paths actually come together to form a single path. No matter which way you go with this choice, God will bring it all back together again. Both decisions have His goodness waiting for you. God wants to give you the desires of your heart. That will only happen if you first trust His heart. Regarding which path to take, God said, “Choose one. I will make it work”

Time to Move Out Into Those Wide Open Spaces In Christ

5970202685_c187cfac72_zIt’s possible.

It’s impossible.

What do I believe?

Nothing is impossible with God. He delights in giving me dreams, visions and revelation that call me out from my safe comfortable existence. I share my hopes and dreams with those who dream big, who believe in walking in the possibilities of God in Christ Jesus. His purpose for me is kingdom oriented and supernaturally driven. It’s infused with eternal perspective that is my internal GPS system.

Each day I choose to believe God. I choose to believe His word.

For with God nothing will be impossible.” Luke 1:37

2017 is a year where my key words are possibility, faith, obedience and confidence.

Possibility brings me into wide-open spaces of exploration.

He stood me up on a wide-open field; I stood there saved—surprised to be loved! Psalms 18:19

Pushed to the wall, I called to God; from the wide-open spaces, he answered. God’s now at my side and I’m not afraid; who would dare lay a hand on me? God’s my strong champion; I flick off my enemies like flies. Far better to take refuge in God than trust in people; Far better to take refuge in God than trust in celebrities. Ps. 118:5-9

In a negative, chaotic world, I choose to believe in possibility, a wide-open space where Jesus takes my hand and Holy Spirit leads me into adventure. In this place, promises abound, hope is eternal, and destinies are walked out in purpose, contrary to the ways of the world. I refuse to live any other way now.

My dad was a negative person due to pain in his personal life. This atmosphere infused our home. Growing up believing that I will never measure up, I stood back, always observing, never engaging with life, never taking risks. Deliverance and healing came in Christ years ago when I received His salvation and His healing. Step by step He walked me out into total freedom into my life message of journey and adventure in the Holy Spirit. It keeps getting better and better each day.

PaintbrushPossibilities are real in the spiritual realm. I see them with eyes of faith and obey the Holy Spirit’s lead to walk them out in a broad place without fear or condemnation.

Timing of the manifestation of the promise is in God’s hands but once you see it in the Spirit, it is yours. Faith calls it forth and obedience walks it out. I partner with the Holy Spirit to manifest heaven on earth through my life in Christ.

Here’s how walk it all out in my life when I receive a promise from God.

Iceland is on my heart. God put it there. He’s a good God with a keen sense of humor. I see something about Iceland in commercials on TV, on the Internet, or while I am reading. It’s like He is saying, “There it is. What are you going to do about it?”

I know I’m called there so I’m putting it out there as an example of walking in faith in journey with Holy Spirit.

I can wait until someone contacts me or I can be proactive in the spirit and start where I am right now….believing in the possibilities that exist in His promise to me.

I take the visions or dreams that He gives me and I position myself in prayer. I prophesy to myself. I pray the vision out loud in declaration until I receive more vision. I thank God for this promise seeing myself there in this beautiful nation.

He then shows me a picture of a rock tumbler and rocks’ hitting against one another and I Google what a rock tumbler is. How does this picture spiritually reveal what God is saying about Iceland and its people? This is just a small part of one vision – walking out the now step by step into the future that is on the horizon.

My call – To motivate you to move in Christ into grand adventure in your Christian walk, believing nothing is impossible with Him. Keep walking this out with me………..

Possibility = adventure and journey in Christ Jesus

Faith = believe the promise at all times, even when you don’t quite see it

Obedience = walking out small steps day by day on this journey. Get moving!

Confidence = NOT in myself but in Jesus, who strengthens me, encourages me and leads me onward.

Sit Down, Take a Seat – Right in the Midst of the Battle

NowTo live in a realm where everything is possible in God, we will confront an opposing realm where people, even those close to us, will tell us that everything we believe is simply impossible to achieve

We’ve all heard them.

You can’t do this.

You will never be able to do this – you’ll never have enough money. You’re not qualified. There are too many people out there better and more connected than you.

Why even bother? Just reach low and if you miss it, then you are not disappointed.

This morning, I felt a surge of something rise up within me. It started in the core of my being. In the spiritual realm, I felt like a warrior dressed for battle, unmovable and unshakeable.

I felt resolute, steadfast, unwavering. Strong. It is all that but, it’s more than that. What to call this?

I call it faith. Faith to enter into all the possibilities that are promised me in Christ while taking a stand against what people say, the world says, or what my circumstances dictate to me on a daily basis.

To enter into God’s possibilities, we must stand strong in the promises of God, believing, despite opposition assaulting us from all sides.

JourneyWe rise above a natural reality and live in the Spirit, which in and of itself confounds the ways of the world. The Holy Spirit directs us into the possibilities of God, which defy man’s wisdom and logic.

God seats us in heavenly places in Christ and that is our reality to be walked out in the earth, right now.

Breakthrough is ours in Christ but we fight doubt, unbelief, condemnation, and worry to believe it and receive it. This is an unending battle. It’s called life. The battle will never end so what to do?

Here’s what God says about living life in the battle, not waiting for the right time or the right circumstances.

Even when the way goes through Death Valley, I’m not afraid when you walk at my side. Your trusty shepherd’s crook makes me feel secure. You serve me a six-course dinner right in front of my enemies. You revive my drooping head; my cup brims with blessing. Psalms 23:4-5

He sets a table for us RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE of our enemies and says, “Sit down and eat. Let’s dream together. Nothing is impossible with me. Sit down and focus. Focus on me. Follow Me.”

Breakthrough to enter into His possibilities? What is it? What does it mean? I am not quite sure what it means for you but for me it means crossing into promises He gave to me which fear tried to abort on a daily basis. It means restoration and reconciliation in some relationships, destroyed and beyond repair. It means open doors to travel into nations with a sure word to deliver that brings healing and deliverance into people’s lives, changing and shaking atmospheres within the sound of my voice. It’s time to move out in the Spirit, confident in His strength, resting in His grace.

What do you believe for that goes beyond any ability you have in you to obtain it?

What dream do you see yourself living out in real-time?

Do you believe, really believe that God can override all the negativity, all the pain in your life and all the dead ends and locked doors to break you out into that sweet place of destiny that your heart has longed for all these years?

Only believe and if you can’t believe, ask Him to strengthen your unbelief. Never give up.

Are You hungry? What are You Looking for?

Knives and ForksMy stomach growled as if I hadn’t eaten in a week. Where was this coming from? I just ate breakfast.

Sometimes God moves through our emotional or physical senses to show us what He is feeling for someone or some situation that day. We feel what He is feeling. Has that ever happened to you? It usually happens through my emotions. Sometimes I look at someone who I’m praying over and I feel intense joy. I don’t know the person but just feel such joy and peace for them. I can’t explain it other than its God’s joy over His child. Praying over the person in this revelation releases joy into their life.

This time it was pure hunger pains. I received them and asked Him what He wanted to show me.

“Deep hunger is growing in many.”

Let me say something here okay? If your Christianity is not filled with supernatural signs from the Lord, then ask Him to sync your life with heaven in Holy Spirit. You are already seated in heavenly places. Every spiritual blessing is yours in Christ. And, you are eternal beings in Christ. So shouldn’t our lives be in sync with eternity?

God is on an adventure and He calls us to walk with Him in the midst of journey. I never accepted my Christianity as just being a ‘go to church sit in a pew listen to a sermon and then carry on with the rest of my life” sort of thing. Jesus is my life so He lives His life through me and He never disappoints.

Fork and Knife on Napkin

Back to the hunger pains okay?

God speaks. I listen.

“There is an intense hunger growing in people, a hunger so strong it can’t be denied. Nothing but Jesus Christ can satisfy a hunger so deep.”

God creates the hunger and then gives divine satisfaction in the person of Jesus Christ.

Why the hunger?

“Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!’ Psalm 34:8

He speaks it loud and clear.

“Partake of life in my son, Jesus Christ. Taste and see that He is good.”

God stirs hunger and then brings divine satisfaction. Why? He seeks you with His heart of love. He calms the storms with eternal reality, the real stuff in Christ.

People are hungry so they search all over for things that satisfy. This runs the gamut from drugs, alcohol, sex, reputation, success, materialism, food…and on and on and on. Fear drives people to feel safe so they seek out anything to get their mind and their life off of the worry, chaos and anxiety in the earth today. Fear is on the loose magnified to the highest degree.

Fear of loss.
Fear of failure.
Fear of death.
Fear of lack.
Fear of sickness.
Fear, fear and more fear.
The list is endless.

God speaks clearly. “Are you hungry? Come to Me! Nothing else will satisfy. Nothing.”

Don’t waste your energy striving for perishable food like that. Work for the food that sticks with you, food that nourishes your lasting life, food the Son of Man provides. He and what he does are guaranteed by God the Father to last……I am the Bread of Life. The person who aligns with me hungers no more and thirsts no more, ever. I have told you this explicitly because even though you have seen me in action, you don’t really believe me. Every person the Father gives me eventually comes running to me. And once that person is with me, I hold on and don’t let go. ” John 6:27, 35-37

Is this truth too hard to swallow? Pardon the pun.

It’s true. All He says is truth. And in this truth there is light and life to change your life so that you find peace, hope, mercy, and love…..so much love in Christ that you will wonder why you ever tried to find something else to satisfy this intense hunger in you.

Are you hungry? Taste and see that He is good. Nothing else will satisfy.
