I had the incredible opportunity to share the message this past Sunday at Isle Vista Church near University of California at Santa Barbara. The room was filled with awesome young adults passionate and so hungry for God. What a joy!
I ministered and was ministered to by many of them. It was an honor! There’s something about this generation just sets me on fire. I love it.
I learned something during the course of the evening about “me” and my call, the way God wired me inside. These are things I basically knew deep within me but this particular night, confirmations by Holy Spirit exploded within my spirit. I am a woman of the Spirit and a woman of flow – as the Spirit leads, I follow.
Over the years a tension always rose up in me before I preached. As hard as I have tried to BE someone who stayed with the script, thinking that this gained credibility to be balanced and normal. I have never actually done it. Ha! I tried to be polished and teacher-like expounding the Word with finesse and wisdom. I tried to live up to expectations that I placed within myself, but I never did. As soon as the anointing begins to flow – I flow, listen and obey. It always turns out to be a glorious time when I rest in Christ. In the process, people are truly ministered to in unique ways.
It all came to the forefront and suddenly there is no tension. Whether understood or not understood by people, I pray and study and worship and then the river flows in ministry. I find myself to be a Holy Spirit orchestrator to some extent. Sunday night, the anointing flowed so smooth, so strong and so easy as I simply rested in who God has made me to be – a woman of the spirit. Holy Spirit……………..
God bless the teachers in Christ. Yet, I find that for myself I spend time in His presence and in His word and then…….the river flows and is flowing greater each day. Moving prophetically to the sound of heaven is birthing a new awe and wonder of Christ in my life. My prayer is to speak words of spirit, life and truth. That is now for me.
What am I saying? There is creative diversity in the Body of Christ. We are all needed in unique ways to preach Christ. Find your flow and stay within its creative flow, moving in the Spirit in the way deep down you are created to be.
Today Garris Elkins confirmed this to me in a word posted on Facebook.
Aligned with the Wind of the Spirit
You are entering a strategic season. In this season your primary task will be to make sure you are properly aligned with the coming wind of the Spirit. This alignment will position you to move forward when the wind begins to blow.
As a sailing vessel adjusts its sails to embrace the full power and energy of the wind, so it is with this season in your life. Make sure you have adjusted your life to align with the wind of the Spirit instead of trying to adjust the wind to fit your life. Bringing the proper adjustments will create the alignment required to put you in position to move forward.
If the sails of the most perfectly designed world-class sailing vessel are not rightly aligned to embrace the full potential of the wind it will be dead in the water and passed by the smallest home-built sailboat whose sails are in right relationship to the wind. In this season size, potential and personal history will mean nothing unless you are in proper alignment with the wind of the Spirit.
God is opening doors for us that no man can shut but I also realized that for so many years, He kept many doors shut by His grace to arrive in this place of glory.
I would love to speak at your conference, gathering, church or home group. Contact me here, on Facebook or on Twitter. Enjoy reading about Rivers of Eden and the Timeline of our Life!
