Creative Friday – Prophetic Artist Shari Breault

Let me introduce you to Shari Breault today, a prophetic artist, creatively gifted in Christ to reveal the heart of the Father to His children.

ImageShari started painting in 1981. At that time, it seemed to be an escape from a bad home situation but In the midst of everything, God anointed her pain for His glorious purpose. I see the unconditional love of the Father in Shari’s work. Her creative expression in Christ shines with beauty and grace flowing from her life.  This painting  is “Not Afraid To Look.” What do you see?

When children came along, Shari decided to lay down her art to raise them as a single mom. Trusting God, she chose to creatively express the beauty of Christ as a mom in her everyday life, yet deep inside the creative artist was alive waiting to come out again in God’s perfect timing.

Seeing thru a child's eyesHere’s a beautiful painting – “Seeing the World Through a Child’s Eyes”.

It was twenty years later that Shari sensed the Lord calling her to pick up her brushes again. She began to paint a lion.

“I love to paint lions,” says Shari. I didn’t know why until I met a gentleman, Dean Braxton, who actually had an incredible supernatural experience where he died and went to heaven.”

His experience opened his spiritual eyes to see things that others may not be able to see.

Shari says, “When he asked me why I paint lions, I hesitated to answer, thinking it was a trick question. I told him that I loved to paint lions simply because I liked them. Then he told me that there was more to it than that.”

In the spirit, Dean saw many lions around her. Shari admits that some people may think that a bit strange, but she has seen them in the realm of the spirit and with her natural eyes when she paints.

Shari says, “Seeing with the eyes of the spirit opens up my spiritual sight to paint to the glory of God.”

Below is the “Lion of Judah” looking up, calling us to a higher place in the Spirit.

Lion of JudahShari has a lot of dreams and visions from God that inspires her art. When God shows her something, she often thinks about it for a few weeks, wondering how to translate what God is showing her into her artwork. As the vision starts to reveal itself within her by Holy Spirit, her imagination takes hold and she begins to paint what she sees.

Shari desires that her paintings bring healing to people. God is answering that prayer. One day a lady walked into her house and saw the painting of the Bride dancing on the Water. When she saw it, the anointing on the painting brought tears to her eyes and she started to weep. Healing then flowed into the woman’s life that very day.

The Bride in a River of LifeOverwhelmed by the Father’s love for her, Shari’s inspiration flows directly from her intimacy, worship and communion with God. There is a fire that burns within her to create. Many times she weeps for the nations, believing that God will open doors to travel, bringing her art into places where lives will be touched, and many will be healed and set free.

Mary, Did You Know?

In this week of Christmas greetings, transition is taking place in my life. This song by Pentatonix is so clear and so crisp in its sound…….my desire for 2016 for me and for you?

Silver BellsMay we rise up into the sound that God has redeemed inside each of us, the very deepest part of us, that part where we commune in deep intimacy with Him….the secret place. Your voice, my voice – unlike any one else’s – unique, clear, resonant with heaven. Hidden away in Christ,  He formed you, knows you through and through. It is the outflow of that intimacy that produces the clearest of sounds, the clarity of a voice that is destined to praise Him with all of our heart, our mind and our soul. That is how this video hits my spirit………the clarity of sound that rises up into worship and praise, like a silver sword piercing the heavenly realm.

Merry Christmas!

Creative Expression – Holy Spirit – Leading, Directing, Guiding – Out And About

SparkHoly Spirit is quite controversial to most Christians. I hear little if anything spoken about Holy Spirit these days. Praying in tongues, prophesying, laying on of hands, true prophetic worship and definitely creative expression is omitted from most gatherings. John quite succinctly tells us that Jesus was quite specific when He says:

However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you. (John 16:13-15 NKJV)

To paraphrase His words, Jesus is saying to us that If you want to know Him, then allow Holy Spirit to reveal Him to you – His ways, His Truth, His life AND to continue to walk in the Spirit as He continues to open up and reveal the person of Christ to us.

Yet, I continue to say and will keep saying that going into most Christian gatherings, I leave, sensing that I have not been touched with a revelation of the mystery of Christ. I leave thinking that I have been in a good gathering, but one that does not leave me breathless and awestruck in the beauty and glory of Christ. What is happening? It’s quite simple. All of us will have to give up control and enter into the beauty of intimacy with Christ and then walk in obedience to His wisdom in His clear directives. Holy Spirit requires that I put aside my agenda for His. I assure you that once I put aside this intense need to control and micromanage and ‘jump into’ the Spirit’s flow, this flow will lead us to Christ Jesus – His beauty, His glory, His magnificence.

The first year in my salvation, I simply believed that Holy Spirit would guide me into the truth of His way. My simplicity of belief and the beauty of intimate times of personal worship and prayer revealed His way in my life. His way, for me, led me into nations such as Italy and Ireland to pray. His way in Christ led me on a 10-day journey into Detroit where each day, a friend and I waited and prayed, and then moved out in Holy Spirit.

Is that possible? Yes of course. It is not only possible but it is the beauty of Christianity. But what if someone gets off base, you may say? What if someone thinks it is God leading the way but it isn’t? What if this is pure lunacy? What if? What if? Well, keep asking yourself these questions and you will live in the reality of the ‘what if’ and never walk on a foundation of faith and the glories of an expanding Christian walk in Christ.

Here’s another example of how a string of Holy Spirit led directives led me into and through a nation. I can’t be afraid of looking ridiculous for Christ. I believe in prophetic acts. Years ago, after a week of prayer, the Lord directed me to travel to Rome to pray throughout the city. I hardly needed any time to simply say ‘yes’ and before you know it, I was on my way. I also believe 100% that when God is ‘in’ the act, the finances are provided to lead the way.

Fingers TouchingOkay so here comes truth as to what I actually did there. Each day, two friends and I would pray in our hotel room. Then we set out for the day into the city. I had 7 smooth stones, upon which I wrote one of the 7 “I AM” statements from the book of John on a stone. Here they are:

“I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me shall not hunger.” John 6:35

“I am the light of the world; he who fallows Me shall not walk in the darkness, but shall have the light of life.” John 8:12

“I am the gate; if anyone enters through Me, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.” John 10:9

“I am the good shepherd; the good shepherd lays down His life for His sheep.” John 10:11

“I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me shall live even if he dies.” John 11:25

“I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me.” John 14:6

“I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser.” John 15:1

7 stones………with 7 “I AM” statements written on them placed at the Arch of Constantine, the Trevi Fountain, St. Peter’s, the Catacombs, along the via Castro Pretorio, at the Jewish Synagogue near the Jewish Ghetto, and finally in the Termini Station. With each stone came intercession with defined Scripture verses that God gave us for each stone and each place. We did not openly gather to pray to draw attention to ourselves in any kind of loud manner. We were not led to do that by the Lord in any way on this trip. It was a hidden mission just to declare the goodness and grandeur of our God. And that we did!

I am  ready for adventure and risk. In fact, Marvin and I are both ready to venture forth again in Christ as pioneers. Perhaps, in reading this, you can’t see yourself doing what I have described above. That’s okay. This is my journey and God will give you one of your own. The point of the matter is simply to live and move and have your being in Christ, allowing Holy Spirit to break you out of a box of confinement into His glory and grace.

In Christ, Debra Westbrook

Creative Expression – It’s Been A Long Time Coming!

NowPeter denied Christ. Paul persecuted Christians. Yet, there is marvelous restoration in Christ for everyone who receives Him.

And then he told me, My grace is enough; it’s all you need. My strength comes into its own in your weakness. (2 Corinthians 12:9 Message)

Before Peter or Paul captured the beauty of their life in Christ, they saw their own glaring frailties and complete failures. They each failed miserably. Then they encountered the reality of Christ. In their weakness, He came into their lives with awesome encounters. It was at this point – their point of absolute weakness – that they are awakened to their absolute need of Christ to make them whole. Things have not changed much for us today. In fact, it has not changed at all.

About an hour later, someone else spoke up, really adamant: “He’s got to have been with him! He’s got ‘Galilean’ written all over him.” Peter said, “Man, I don’t know what you’re talking about.” At that very moment, the last word hardly off his lips, a rooster crowed. Just then, the Master turned and looked at Peter. Peter remembered what the Master had said to him:” Before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times.” He went out and cried and cried and cried. (Luke 22:59-62 Message)

The piercing eyes of Jesus, eyes filled with absolute love and mercy for Peter. Peter looks and is suddenly accosted by regret, guilt, and condemnation.

That set off a terrific persecution of the church in Jerusalem. The believers were all scattered throughout Judea and Samaria. All, that is, but the apostles. Good and brave men buried Stephen, giving him a solemn funeral––not many dry eyes that day! And Saul just went wild, devastating the church, entering house after house after house, dragging men and women off to jail (Acts 8:1-3 Message)

Paul brazenly defended his religion, without mercy and without regret.

Both of these men soon hit rock bottom. It was at that point that Jesus reveals Himself to each of them. His grace is made perfect in their absolute weakness.

Transformation comes with confrontation.

Peter’s revelatory moment.

Then the disciple Jesus loved said to Peter, “It’s the Master!” When Simon Peter realized that it was the Master, he threw on some clothes, for he was stripped for work, and dove into the sea. (John 21:7 Message)

Then he said it a third time:” Simon, son of John, do you love me?” Peter was upset that he asked for the third time, “Do you love me?” so he answered, “Master, you know everything there is to know. You’ve got to know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Feed my sheep. (John 21:17 Message)

Paul’s revelatory moment.

He set off. When he got to the outskirts of Damascus, he was suddenly dazed by a blinding flash of light. As he fell to the ground, he heard a voice: “Saul, Saul, why are you out to get me?” He said, “Who are you, Master?” “I am Jesus, the One you’re hunting down. (Acts 9:3-5 Message)

Restoration flows through each life in the wake of revelation – the unconditional love of Jesus Christ. His mercy. His grace. Jesus comes to restore and make whole, anointing men and women for His purpose, not in their relevant strengths but in their blatant weaknesses.

That’s when Peter stood up and, backed by the other eleven, spoke out with bold urgency:” Fellow Jews, all of you who are visiting Jerusalem, listen carefully and get this story straight (Acts 2:14 Message)

He said, “Who are you, Master?” “I am Jesus, the One you’re hunting down. 6 I want you to get up and enter the city. In the city you’ll be told what to do next. (Acts 9:5-6 Message)

One day as they were worshiping God––they were also fasting as they waited for guidance––the Holy Spirit spoke: “Take Barnabas and Saul and commission them for the work I have called them to do. (Acts 13:2 Message)

There it is for me to see. Failure, utter failure, discouragement, regret and wholehearted restoration in Christ. This past year, in my own self-indulgence, always thinking about me, I discounted His love and mercy, His grace and forgiveness in my life. I often hurled accusations at my God for being absent, uncaring or an unloving Father. Over the past year, my faith in crisis, often felt like Peter standing close to the fire, blatantly saying, “I don’t know You.” I discounted all those past years when He met me supernaturally and loved me unconditionally.

Yet, today, after some God ordained supernatural days, transformation is flowing into my life. I did not ordain the time. I did not ordain the season. It is God.

February is a turning month for me. God spoke that to me, yet hope deferred blinded my eyes from seeing its truth and reality. Healing touches my heart. Hope is restored and faith gives me eyes to see what I could not see even 2 weeks ago. My encounter, my reality.

I failed miserably in many ways in my life. Yet, His grace is sufficient. I have stumbled and offended. I have allowed anger to rule my emotions. Yet, His grace is sufficient for me, in my weakness.

It’s been a long time coming. It seems as if scales are falling off my eyes to love and be loved. My spiritual voice is being restored with authenticity and honesty flowing forth. If you are reading this and have followed my journey, I would not be saying this just to have a good blog. God shows no favorites. He loves His children. What He does for me, He can and will do for you.

There are still good and bad days to come but here’s the difference. There were cracks in my foundation, blatant cracks in my life. I often felt like I have destroyed so many things – relationships and more – that there was no hope. Then while walking a few days ago, I kept thinking about Peter and about Paul. Jesus’ strength made perfect in blatant weakness. This strength is for me, right now in my life. Christ in me, the hope of glory. Seeing the reality of my life without Him. Seeing that I cannot go further in my own strength, I fall headlong into my own life. Then, He comes at that point and restores and renews and refreshes.

How did this happen? Well as I said, it is God’s unique timing and purpose. He led me to a conference where I encountered an anointing in the Holy Spirit. Hands were laid on me and freedom came. God’s timing. God’s way. Out of the cave, one step forward – in my weakness, He is strong. It could have come another way, but it did not. It could have come years ago, but it did not. It could have but His timing is perfect, NOW.

In Christ, Debra Westbrook
