Words Get In The Way – Spiritual Words, Spiritual Language

shhWords are powerful, able to build up or let down, rise up or fall flat, empower or demean. Jesus spoke with an ear to heaven while walking on the earth.

In Christ, we speak as a new creation, eternity flowing from our lips, resonating with the Father’s eternal heart. We speak as heaven downloads revelation to our Spirits.

Jesus said: “The Spirit can make life. Sheer muscle and willpower don’t make anything happen. Every word I’ve spoken to you is a Spirit-word, and so it is life-making.” John 6:63 (MSG)

This goes beyond the typical message that exhorts us to watch our words or guard what and how we say things. That is part of it but there is so much more. We wait on the Lord for the right words at the right time. At the moment they are spoken they create and bring the eternal realm into the natural.

Let’s remember when God said, “Let there be light.” His voice traveled with sound and light to create order out of chaos. The earth was without form and the word of God brought order and substance into existence.

It’s time to speak the creative language of eternity, a heavenly language that will propel us into a new direction and dimension. We speak by the Spirit with a sound that resonates with eternity now, ushering in the innovation of the Kingdom, full of dynamic potential to create on earth that which is already in heaven. We speak into the darkness, into the void and create life.

talking headsWords are flowing in abundance right now. There is very little reprieve from the constant noise no matter where we go or what we turn to. It is time to be still for in the stillness our spirits take the time to align with the sound of heaven, allowing that sound to form within and flow from our lips with creative words of healing, deliverance, restoration…and so much more.

Our words are getting in the way right now. All of heaven cries out “Listen. Be still.”

We live in Christ, have our being in Him and move in Him. Out of our belly flows rivers of living water and that often takes the form of words. It’s how we communicate and express ideas and concepts, innovative thoughts downloaded from heaven. Spiritual words in a spiritual language.

Over the years, many pressed around me constantly telling me to make it practical. As I preached on what I saw by the Spirit, I looked at their faces, which often looked a bit quizzical, not understanding.

I tried to bring it down, to make it practical. Oh how I tried but found out that in doing this, I lost the mystery of glory flowing through my words and through my life. As I look carefully at the words of Jesus, I see glory flowing from His life, words filled with grace and power, not always understood, but filled with eternal creativity.

As a people, it’s time to mature and speak words of eternity, filled with the creativity of heaven. Once spoken, people can work them out in their own life in a practical way with Holy Spirit. But first, right now, people must get used to a heavenly sound that is birthing a new order. Listen by the Spirit. Ask Holy Spirit to give you understanding and wisdom.

Spiritual words bring spiritual reality. Don’t rush this. Take time to think and meditate on things as they are given, slowly, bit by bit. This will form the foundation of your spiritual life, strong and sure. Little by little God will give more and more and more.

The temptation for me over the years is to write so that immediately people say, “I get it” or “That works”.

Now I much prefer mentoring people into the depths of Christ where there is so much more on a journey of discovery and adventure in the Holy Spirit. Perhaps in doing this I am a bit selfish in the fact that I also receive from the overflow of people’s lives flowing in the river of God as they passionately seek Him with their whole hearts.

Now having said this, the tide is turning on this blog. With our recent Spirit-led move to North Carolina, doors are opening, relationships are forming and I could not be happier. With that has come a distinct peace and a deep settling into ME and who God has created me to be. In this continual process, I will impart to others what God gives to me. I long to see this Millennial generation (and everyone else) fall in love with Jesus and live a Spirit led life here and now. Enjoy this journey with me. Share your journey with me in the comments below. Also keep in touch. Speaking opportunities are rising and perhaps I may meet some of you.

Gazing….Hearing the Voice of God

HeartAs a Christian, we hear the voice of our Lord. We heard His voice draw us into salvation but it does not stop there. We hear Him in an ongoing relationship through Holy Spirit who dwells within us to lead, guide, teach and comfort. So let’s establish this fact: we hear His voice.

Is there the opportunity to make mistakes? To not actually hear correctly? Of course there is. But, that should not by any means stop us from seeking to hear Him speak into our lives through every means possible – the written Word of God, the rhema Word of God breathed into us by the Holy Spirit in revelation, dreams, visions, trances, quiet times and not so quiet times, words dropped into our spirits, and through prophetic acts. The possibilities to commune with God are as creative and unique and diverse as God is in His being.  There are many different ways He can talk to us. It is all centered on relationship. Intimacy with the Lord develops a relationship where we are in sync with Him. In Christ…..we are in Christ.

Today I want to talk about gazing upon His face in the power of Holy Spirit in times of meditation. Times where we meet with Him, set everything else aside. Times where we place everything else on hold and label it “Nonessential” or “Unimportant”. Times where we sit down and gaze upon His beauty in order to reflect His glory in and through our lives. This is not some feminine act or some girly thing. It is Scripture and may I remind us that a man first spoke about gazing on the beauty of the Lord. David.

One thing I have desired of the Lord,
That will I seek:
That I may dwell in the house of the Lord
All the days of my life,
To behold the beauty of the Lord,
And to inquire in His temple.
For in the time of trouble
He shall hide me in His pavilion;
In the secret place of His tabernacle
He shall hide me;
He shall set me high upon a rock.
(Psalms 27:4-5 NKJV)

I also love The Message for devotional times.

I’m asking God for one thing,
only one thing:
To live with him in his house
my whole life long.
I’ll contemplate his beauty;
I’ll study at his feet.
5 That’s the only quiet, secure place
in a noisy world,
The perfect getaway,
far from the buzz of traffic
(Psalms 27:4-5 Message)

In my early years of being a Christian, I was initially a ‘doing’ Christian before I realized that ‘being’ Christian moved me along in revelation and intimacy with Jesus. What do I mean? I spent time as often as I could in worship, with the Bible, and a journal. I went to a variety of places to quiet down and to enter into “being” spiritual, “being” in Christ, and realizing that I am seated with Christ in heavenly places – on earth and in heaven. I asked Holy Spirit to teach me His ways, the ways of the Kingdom. I wrote conversations with the Lord in my journal, dialoging back and forth. May I be bold enough to say that you can’t bypass spending time with Jesus, no matter how busy your schedule is? He can download so much into our lives when we give Him our time. We get more done giving Him our lives to lead and guide as He sees fit. Try it. I assure it that it is awesome.

Some thoughts from a book I am currently reading.

The Cave by Joseph Shrewsbury

“Beholding is simply sitting quietly in the presence of Jesus and seeing Him there.”

“The point of beholding is not to get anything more than simply being in His presence.”

It is in beholding that as we gaze we are transformed in the Spirit, being in Christ. There is a divine exchange that takes place in these times. Can I say it like this? More of you, Lord. Less of me. This is a rare form of Christianity in the West but there is no other way to learn His ways and to be transformed by His Spirit, being conformed into His image. We impact the world, our cities, nations, friends, families……through being transformed in His presence.

The point of gazing is to enter into the reality that being ‘in Christ’ means we are in Christ. I don’t leave. I am always in Christ. He seems to have all of me while at the same time, I get distracted, get busy so I have to pull my being into the revelation that He is my all in all.

There are so many great books to read on this.

Practicing the Presence of God by Brother Lawrence.

Wade Taylor……anything by Wade Taylor. Wade is deceased now but his legacy lives on in His revelation and His love for His Lord.

A few more thoughts from The Cave.

“Moving into mediation, especially the type of mediation that is often called ‘beholding’ requires us to stop talking. In fact, it frequently doesn’t even involve us listening either. When we begin beholding Him, we typically make a deliberate effort to do so, and then we stop beholding and go about our business……..eventually we can maintain a state of continual beholding which is having the awareness of Christ in you and you in Him constantly before you. It is superimposed over your daily activities and you find that having the awareness of Him in you makes your day a day of power in the Spirit.”

So I encourage each and everyone one of you to take time to BE with the Lord.

Rivers of Eden Ministry – Creativity! This Is It!

Rivers of Eden Ministry…..Creativity Abounds in Christ Jesus

There is a river whose streams shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacle of the Most High. (Psalms 46:4 NKJVS)

Rivers of Eden – helping people live outside the box, calling them into their unique creative identity and expression in Christ Jesus.

He also brought me out into a broad place; He delivered me because He delighted in me. (Psalms 18:19 NKJVS)

Rivers of Eden – leading people into a broad place of identity and freedom, where Christ Jesus brings deliverance, healing and restoration.

As a creative force, Rivers of Eden imparts wholeness into the lives of people who have a creative bent given to them by God. Currently, we accomplish this vision in several ways.

Discipleship – Prophetic teaching focused on living, moving and having our being in Christ Jesus. (Acts 17:28) This discipleship is based on 4 distinct sections.

  1. Being in Christ– Establishing people in a clear revelation of their salvation and transformation in Christ, prophetically teaching on the beauty of the finished work of the cross of Christ.
  2. Living in Christ– Focusing on the reality that as new creations in Christ Jesus, we are seated in heavenly places giving a fresh perspective in how we live our lives on earth.
  3. Moving in Christ– Living our life in the Holy Spirit, supernaturally manifesting heaven on earth.
  4. Creative Expression in Christ– Each of us are the creative expressions of Christ in us, the hope of glory. Through revelatory prophetic teaching, people will rise up to BE creative in whatever sphere God has placed them in the earth. As we teach on creativity and its importance in the Body of Christ, people awaken into destiny.

Prophetic Gatherings – Expressing heaven’s creative flow, we allow the Holy Spirit to lead and direct us in prophetic preaching and worship. Our heart is to establish creative teams that flow and move in distinct creative ways under the orchestration of eternity.

Mentoring, Prophesying, and Encouragement – Each of us has a creative bent whether that be in the arts, in teaching, in business, or in administration. People need to be encouraged to BE in Christ in whatever sphere He places them in the earth. Our call is to bring creativity back into the Body of Christ so that the world sees Jesus in His glory and splendor. Each life, gathering, or church service should respond to heaven’s directive. As Holy Spirit creative orchestrators, we hope to establish a creative flow wherever God sends us through the presence, glory and power of God flowing through our lives.

In Sync With Your Spiritual Senses– Part 2

PaintbrushEach of us should be in sync with our internal wiring, our internal ‘bent’ – ‘bent’ meaning the way we are designed to live, move and have our being in Christ. He is our life. He is the way. He knows the path we take as are we created to walk in sync with Him.

Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it. (NKJV)

Proverbs 22:6 Point your kids in the right direction––when they’re old they won’t be lost. (The Message)

In other words, our parents raise us up and get us going on our own unique paths created in Christ, encouraging and challenging us each step of the way to be US. To be the unique individual that God created.

Some of us are blessed to have parents that did just that while others may not even know what it feels like to have the unconditional support and love from parents who love you no matter what. Well, for those who have been blessed to be raised up to BE, that is a great thing. For others, I have great news.

What is lacking in the natural in your life, is now given to you in a Father, God Himself, who will lead you on a journey to discover how you are internally wired, how He made you, so as to live a life, even in the midst of trial and struggle, knowing that you are created to BE perfectly and rightly formed. In this there is great peace along with an adventurous wild ride in radical Christianity that evades the norm of this complacent religious atmosphere to BE spiritual, our true self.

We are more easily trained to physical jobs, some of which we hate at times. So many of us drag ourselves out of bed, knowing that we have to DO the work to get by and make a living, but the work does not satisfy, leaving us void of passion and purpose. I do not have a 10-step plan on how to achieve your dreams. I have something greater. Let me introduce to you Holy Spirit – who leads you into revelation of the person of Christ who is your life. Jesus Himself looks at you and simply calls out, “Follow Me.”

We are created for a more excellent way. To BE a Christian involves walking in Christ in Holy Spirit, loved by Father God, along a path of light and life, tailored for each of us in unique and creative ways. And, that involves using our spiritual senses to flow in a greater reality. What reality is this?

Colossians 1:27
….Christ in you, the hope of glory….

Ephesians 2:6
……and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus….

Let’s get this down into our spirit, firmly settled in our foundational understanding of our salvation. I am created, along with you, to engage our spiritual senses from this new place we call home, the heavenly realm. I am seated with Christ, IN Christ, in heavenly places. I live in the world yet I see and hear that which is from a higher reality. And that is what gets me through the fear, the angst, the chaos, and the violence of this world that which surrounds me on a daily basis. I don’t ‘bow out’ or ‘opt out’ but I SEE through the lens of a greater reality – the reality of being seated in heavenly place right now.

To interpret our natural reality through the lens of a greater spiritual reality brings life and light through our lives in the earth realm. That is why God wires us each differently in life. Some of us continually see visions. Some of us hear the word of the Lord with a firm knowing inside that which is God’s heart. Some of us administrate. Some of us serve in extraordinary ways in obscure places. It matters not the ‘what’. The focus is ‘WHO’. Who calls you? Who knows you? And, who equips you to walk in this earthly realm while seated in heavenly places? Who challenges you to step out and bring heaven to earth right where you are right now? God Himself in the reality of His Son.

Holy Spirit is within to help us engage with our spiritual selves while walking in the natural. It is time. We need this now and in the days ahead. One needn’t learn to BE who we are – no striving, no restlessness. It all starts with intimacy. One on one with God who leads the way.
