Breaking of the Dawn

Waking up early to clear my mind and engage with the Lord. It has been a hellish 5 years for many of us but it is a new day and a new year. So I am going all out prophetic in this blog. For the past few years, I have gone one way and another way only to find myself full circle back to who I am – creatively prophetic moving in Holy Spirit engaging in the awesome adventure of Christianity, hoping to enlist a generation to join me along the way.

Man in rising sunFor many years, I listened to prophetic words come and go about breakthroughs and shifts but then came this year……..I can’t explain it nor do I want to but I sense deep in my spirit that God is going to do beyond what we can even imagine this year in our lives, our families, dreams, purpose destiny. It is a shift that has taken place in the Spirit and it is real, substantial and true.

A shift in the Spirit is just that………heaven manifesting on earth in Holy Spirit through Christ Jesus in fresh, new ways. Example: For many years, I developed a cynical attitude about anything prophetic. In doing that, I actually fought against my own DNA in whom God called me to be. Not good.

Cynicism cut my supply line to eternal reality. I kept writing it all out here on the blog as to what I deeply desired but living it lacked the spontaneity, adventure and love for Jesus that I so desperately needed in my daily life. Cynicism internally attached itself to everything and actually killed passion and hope in my life for a time. The antidote to cynicism is repent and believe again. I have done that. Passion is restored and hope sets a path of light in my life.

Each day as I wake up to the breaking of the dawn, I sit and worship, pray, read Scripture and wait on God to talk. And…..He does…. in glorious and marvelous ways. The word comes alive as I believe and I see small things begin to transpire in a new day.

EyeFor instance, I had 2 distinct, clear visions. One was of China where I stood in the land and walked the land, praying. I then saw myself taking a sheer scarf and waving it over the land in an intensity of prayer. This back up many prophetic  words from times past about a journey into China for ministry and intercession.

Truth: God is bringing back many things from our past (people, promises, dreams), placing them right in the present in order to open a door to the future.

The other vision involved an increased passionate heart for Europe where I saw a black veil being pulled over the nations. Yet I knew that when darkness increases, light increased so much more and His glory rules and reigns. The darkness is real. Yet there is coming resurrection power that will sweep through a remnant of people that will not bow their knee to that reality but will rise and shine in the power of light and sound to establish the Kingdom through Europe. Great days for Europe. Great days.

Shortly after getting these two visions, an invitation came to go back to Poland to minister prophetically. Here was the manifestation – heaven on earth.

Each day I wake up to something new taking place in my life…….small things, bigger things and everything in between. From this place of faith in the goodness and glory in Christ, I step into what God reveals and believe. From that place, He opens up more and more to me in the realm of connections, a few open doors and increasing revelation.

He is soooo good. Believe and receive…..let Him reveal Himself to you in ways that are awesome and true. Take steps of obedience, small at first, and He guides, leads provides and definitely surprises us along the way.

The Cycle of Self-Pity

The Cycle of Self Pity (From God’s Now TIme by Chuck Pierce)

There is a lot of warfare in the atmosphere right now. Don’t fall into “self pity” this season!

Visual representation of a soundwaveProphecy unlocks our future. But once we get wounded or experience loss, we can lose sight of our future. The biggest demonic force that we have to contend with is self-pity. Self-pity draws attention to our loss and keeps us from seeing God’s glory manifested in our life. Instead of our loss directing us to God’s continued perfect plan for our life, our self rises up and causes us to say, “Pity me for what I have lost.” Any time we experience loss, trauma, wounding or injustice, we can either choose to live with a belief system that God can heal and forgive or we can allow our mind-set to form rejection, self-defense and self-pity.

During times of loss and wounding, we have a tendency to accuse God for the trauma that we are experiencing. The power of this accusation leads to a type of fatherlessness. Instead of experiencing the spirit of adoption, we feel abandoned and lost. From our self-defense, we actually form a rebellion to authority. We also become unteachable. We have a mind-set that says, “No one understands me or what I am going through.”

Heart MonitorWe also begin to think that there is no solution to our problem. We wake up thinking, There is no way out. We fall into apathy because we have no hope of healing or restoration. Since we know that we should be living a godly life, religious mechanisms become a solace to us. We may even gain a martyr complex and say, “O woe is me. This is my cross to bear. Look how heavy is my cross.” This type of thinking causes us to not fight when we need to fight. Instead of fighting and advancing, we become a slave to comfort and the status quo. We forget that we are called to fellowship with Christ’s sufferings—a type of fellowship that leads to His resurrection power manifesting in us.

Losing sight of the love of God causes us to turn to self. God’s love forces us to deal with these thoughts born of our self-pity. I have experienced enough freedom in my own life to know when I am not free. Faith works by love. Once we experience God’s liberty and love, we will be able to resist that call from self to be pitied and be able to overthrow hope deferred. Chuck Pierce

Subliminal Sounds – Constant Noise! Help Us Holy Spirit!

Have you noticed that there is an undercurrent of noise that constantly tries to invade our space, divert our attention and distract our focus? There are powerful subliminal messages that exist all around us. And, they don’t let up one bit.

Here are a few.

Stay in the mix!

Out of sight, out of mind!

Adhere to these statements from any subtle sense of insecurity and rejection and bam………you live by the flow of social media and current trends in a never-ending cycle of trying to BE on a journey of success, breakthrough or destiny.

Note to Self: You are EnoughMy life has taken this incredible turn today as a sense of ennui (that’s boredom and just plain weariness) settled on my life over the past week. Usually I would run from it. Stand up straight and head into the storm. Make it happen. Don’t quit.

But today…I am tired which has given me lots of time to simply BE in the presence of Jesus Christ where I discovered that I feel a bit lost in time.

If I succumb to the pressure of being in the mix and fearing that out of sight brings me out of mind which means that I will fall flat into oblivion and obscurity again, I will create my own flow helping me to be SEEN and HEARD. Heaven forbid! The pressure is unrelenting – blog more so you aren’t forgotten, tweet more so that you are out there, Facebook more posts to be a presence on line.

No more! I decide today, enough is enough. I decide rather than anyone else. I have my voice, a LANGUAGE OF BEING that flows from me like a river, Rivers of Eden to be exact.

All morning, I left the demands of a schedule and worshipped. In this beautiful process, there came intense Christ–discovery of the glorious one who is in me, Holy Spirit who syncs me with creativity and adventure, and Father who loves me. Selah. Selah. Selah.

Passion is overflow – contagious, resounding with words of life, attractive.

Self-promotion, trying to be in the mix – this leads to desperation and desperation is simply not attractive. Desperation seems to want to pull you, force you to listen.

My language of being…in Christ flows through me. I want to BE like Jesus when He said:

The Spirit can make life. Sheer muscle and willpower don’t make anything happen. Every word I’ve spoken to you is a Spirit–word, and so it is life–making. (John 6:63 Message)

…the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life. (John 6:63 NKJV)

It is appropriate that this happens right now at my release into preaching again. It allows me to rest in Me and in Christ in Me, giving what I know I have – His revelation flowing through me – a language of being with words of spirit and life.

What about you? Don’t follow trends or cutting edge concepts to BE something you are not. Flow in your language of being for God has created people out there waiting to hear you, not someone else speaking through you OR not a sound of desperation flowing from a place of insecurity or doubt that you are enough. You are enough….and so am I!

No Plan B – Don’t Settle, Don’t Opt Out!

Jeremiah 29:11For those encountering ‘God’s delay’ in fulfilling a promise given to you years ago or seeing breakthrough in any number of areas, this blog is for you and me. God breathed the ministry of Rivers of Eden into my heart in 1997. Over all these years, seasons of discouragement filled my life when I was so far away from any semblance of the promise. Many times in the midst of great regret, I railed at God for being less than faithful to me. I cried deep tears wondering if this life as it existed was all I could ever dream for or hope to get. There is so more but all I can tell you is that I went though so much stuff, like many of you.

In all these years the vision of Rivers of Eden has never died within my being. It seems like this promise is interwoven into my framework, my DNA. In times where I wanted to walk away, I realized that no matter what I did, my heart was set on the promise given to me by God. It was today, while driving, that I realized so clearly that I never wanted a plan B. I never opted out no matter what came my way. His grace sustained me in the journey, even when I did not see Him or feel Him in the slightest way.

There is no glory in plan B for me. In fact, there is no plan B for me. Only Plan A – the promises of God, as He spoke them to my heart, alive and flowing in me out to the nations.

Now having said that, I also want to say this. Plan A does not work itself out like we think. The way I thought Rivers of Eden would flow is not the way God saw it flowing in my life. So His Plan A is different from my perception of Plan A. His seed of promise is growing in me and I tried to work it out my way, in my time. Now, I see He is faithful to His way in His timing in His wisdom.

So for those reading – don’t settle for anything less than what God promised you. No matter how long it takes to see fulfillment. No matter how far away you seem to be from it, don’t settle. As God aligns your vision with His, and as you hear His sound, rest in His way and release what you thought into His process. Eventually passion and joy will be infused into your life as you realize that you are not forgotten and something greater than you can imagine is upon you, unfolding one step at a time.

Why am I so encouraged right now? Well quite simply, I just watched a movie today called “Mr. Holland’s Opus.’ I’ve seen it many times but Holy Spirit kept prompting me to watch it again with spiritual eyes and ears open to receive.

Here’s a brief recap of the story. Mr. Holland has a dream – to write his symphony, his opus, as a composer. He thinks about it all the time. He works on it all the time. Then, life hits – bills to pay, baby on the way, house to buy, job needed…you see the picture. Life has a way of distracting and diverting us from our dreams.

He accepts a teaching job but over the years, his involvement with the students increases to the point where his symphony seems to take a place way down on his list of priorities.

All through the movie, he deals with regret, loss of vision and discouragement. He feels he is losing his passion and his dream in the daily outworking of his life. Yet behind the scenes something was happening that he didn’t see. Plan A was still being worked out, but not the way He thought it would come together.

It all happens in the last scene of the movie. He walks into an auditorium to find people, hundreds of people who are there to honor him for how he impacted their lives over the course of many years. While he thought his dream was dying, it was birthing itself over and over in the lives of people. They were his symphony, his opus.

The stage is full with an orchestra made up of former students. Their lives were his opus from years of of his encouragement, his patience and his love for each of them. But, he never saw it until that day. As he began to lead this orchestra in the symphony, his dream, his Plan A came forth in the sound of beauty, honor, love, respect and so much more. It came together, not in the way he planned it, but in a much greater way than he could ever imagine.

As for me, there is no Plan B. There is only Plan A fulfilling itself right now in the journey in God’s way in His timing. He is faithful to complete what He seeds into us. I will enjoy the journey, rest in His grace and walk step by step in His promises right now as He leads the way. I pray this encourages you in some small way today.

Graffiti on the Walls of Your Life

Abstract graffiti wallEvery child is an artist. The problem is how to remain one when we grow up. Pablo Picasso

Every child is an artist……..until people recklessly graffiti on the walls of our life. They paint with words and images trying to brand us with their way, their truth, their life. We stop living from the inside out, and live from the outside in. Consistently tagged by the plans or well-meaning intentions of others, life and creativity is lost beneath various colors, images, and words…..and they are not ours, not who we believe we are deep inside.

Over time, creativity is lost. We turn into robotic adults who breathe in and breathe out, losing our sense of awe and wonder. It is in this awe and wonder, this childlike faith that creativity flows like a river. As an adult, creativity is dammed up within us by the refuse of pain, sorrow, grief, anger, depression……………

Graffiti 1We walk through life in a daze, wondering who we really are, feeling alienated from the very day that we call our own. What is it? We look deep inside and remember the days of creativity as a child. The graffiti on the walls of our life dictate our course of action. People constantly tag us with everything we can possible imagine and amidst it all, we lose ourselves amidst the chaos. Again, creativity is lost.

As a Christian, we are destined to be creative. It is the DNA of God, our creator in us. Each of us has purpose and promise and everything in this day and age tries to make us robotic and a template of the times and cultural trends at hand. We have to resist that flow with every fiber of our being. Creativity is the river of our lives. Within that river, there is adventure, journey, rest, peace…..this river is the flow of God in Christ through our lives.

AwakeGod breathes into us from the very womb of our existence.

“Before I shaped you in the womb, I knew all about you. Before you saw the light of day, I had holy plans for you: A prophet to the nations––that’s what I had in mind for you (Jeremiah 1:5 Message)

“Oh yes, you shaped me first inside, then out; you formed me in my mother’s womb. I thank you, High God––you’re breathtaking! Body and soul, I am marvelously made! I worship in adoration––what a creation! You know me inside and out, you know every bone in my body; You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit, how I was sculpted from nothing into something. Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth; all the stages of my life were spread out before you, The days of my life all prepared before I’d even lived one day.” (Psalms 139:13-16 Message)

God writes on the walls of you life. He calls you to awaken to who you really are. He restores the journey in our lives, the sense of adventure, the place of creativity. Without it we are cogs in a time machine and it is only in Christ Jesus that we have life.

Little Girl with balloonWhy do I keep focusing on creativity? I believe creativity, divine life in us from the very womb, has been aborted, destroyed, delayed or any number of things. Creativity is the divine expression of Christ in us. Without it, we only go through the motion day by day. Life paves a path of boredom and frustration that eventually flows through defeat on every front. Unfortunately, religion has only enforced that through mundane, robotic Christianity. Creativity is our destiny.

Allow God to restore divine creativity within each of us. We must know that no matter what the circumstances of life have dictated to us, God knew us and placed us in our mother’s womb. For some that is a joyous memory. For others the very thought is painful. For many, they live with regret, anger, pain. The answer is to forgive on all fronts. First of all, know that the plans God has for you are creatively excellent. Forgive parents, friends, teachers – anyone who has attempted through ignorance or through determination to destroy the seeds of creativity that God placed inside of you. After forgiveness, ask the Lord to restore a sense of childlike faith, a sense of wonder at His wonderfulness, His awesomeness, His majesty. Ask Him to breathe His creative breath into you again so that you may co-create with Him, your life in Christ. Live in Christ, creatively.
