Creative Expression – A Seamless Life In Christ Part 1

Christ Holy Spiritin me, Holy Spirit flowing through my life – life as a Christian is intended to be seamless, not fragmented, distorted or separated. I don’t relegate Jesus to Sunday morning. I don’t prophecy only in the midst of Christian gatherings. My life is a seamless expression in Christ as I live, move and have my being in Him. My life is lived listening to the sound of heaven, doing what I see the Father doing. I have not arrived but I am living in the reality of this expanding revelation.

Seamless – The addition of a routine or program that works smoothly with an existing system and can be activated and used as if it had been built into the system when the system was put together. It implies that the new feature can be installed and used without problems. Continuous/flowing.

Perhaps I am stretching this analogy, but hey, it’s how I learn, live and move in the day to day. I am in awe that heaven wants to download its revelation by the Spirit into my life. Heaven wants to continually reveal to me the awe, wonder and mystery of Christ in me, the hope of glory. I am created in Christ to interface smoothly with heaven because the Spirit of God is in me. I am not fragmented but whole in my salvation. Yes, I am still in process – healed but still being healed. Yet, now I am created to move in the Spirit according to the directives and words of love flowing from God. This is Christianity. How different from what I see around me.

It often seems that when one says they prophecy, or hear the voice of God, and respond to Holy Spirit that one is confronted with a look that may imply we are a ‘bit off’. How far have we come from the supernatural reality of BEING a Christian? I will gladly take the looks and the implications because I am created to be creative, in touch with my Lord, and moving to the sound of heaven right here on earth.

Holy Spirit GiftsHere’s a thought. When Apple wants to do a software update, it usually means that the system inevitably works better, runs smoother, etc. There is a seamless integration between the update working to keep all things in sync. I am not a computer expert but I am Apple to the max so I know that I can count on downloading a song, for instance, that I then can access on my IPad and my Mac. That is how I like it. All things in sync and ready to be accessed wherever I am and whatever I am doing.

Can I compare that to Christianity today? Many gatherings are not open to any new updates. They keep moving on with an old system yet it is not working. Instead it is fragmenting the church into parts that never function as the ‘whole’. Church as it is simply does not seem to work effectively. Why? Holy Spirit and the beauty of His flow. How often have I been in gatherings where there are basic components: teaching on grace, emphasis on the cross, discipleship, study of the Word, prayer, etc. Yet how little do I see the spontaneous flow of the Holy Spirit who, in a moment, can impart something to us that can change things that we, in and of ourselves, seem to take forever to accomplish if we ever do. Oh, how we need Holy Spirit.

Creative Expression – An Infusion Of Desire

Desire, a powerful word. The distortion of this word can evoke images of lust, sex or sensuality. Yet, here I am talking about Holy Spirit, the prophetic, creative expression, and the gifts and I find it in what Paul says below.

Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy. (1 Corinthians 14:1 NKJV)

Therefore, brethren, desire earnestly to prophesy, and do not forbid to speak with tongues. (1 Corinthians 14:39 NKJVS)

Desire to prophesy. Desire spiritual gifts. Burn with zeal to prophesy. Be zealous for this and pursue this in life. Pretty clear to me. I have always been part of or a leader in a prophetic church that encourages a prophetic lifestyle. I encourage tongues and prophesy and creative expression. That is what keeps us alive and moving in Christ. Sometimes it can look like sanctified chaos  in a gathering. That is where leaders come into play. Holy Spirit led leaders who are willing to walk in such an intimacy with Christ that they flow in accordance to the sound and directives of heaven, no matter what the cost. Leaders that direct and lead in accordance with where Holy Spirit is moving. I want to be that. I feel I am that. Are you?

Do you desire to take a risk and enter into a Spirit led lifestyle, desiring for the manifestation of heaven on earth? A seamless life where Christ flows through you with discernment, prophesy and more? What are you waiting for? In the coming days, I will keep speaking on Holy Spirit from a foundational aspect along with prophetic perspective. In other words, I want to see that we walk in the prophetic in a foundation established on the excellency of knowing Christ intimately. And, from that place of intimacy, the Holy Spirit flows from us in unique and creative ways.

Prophesy is caught and taught. Yes, I learned all the principles and Scriptural references but at some point, I had to jump out of the boat. And, as a leader, I had to encourage people around me, as I mentored them, to step out of their boat. It’s a lot like riding a bike. We try. We fall. We try. We fall. But, we keep trying. I want to be that type of leader that helps people grow by placing them in an environment of love and acceptance to make mistakes  in the prophetic and not feel condemned. I want to see people established in Christ and to get up and keep trying. There is a lot of flesh worked out as we learn to walk in the prophetic but that goes for much of our walk in Christ. He establishes us in great grace.

The beauty of the prophetic is when its focus is entirely on Christ. That is why intimacy with Christ allows one to mature in the desire to prophesy and move in an incredible array of gifts which glorify Jesus.

Flaming HeartThough I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing. (1 Corinthians 13:1-3 NKJVS)

So many churches and leaders simply want to throw the baby out with the bath water. They don’t want to lose any control. That’s not life. That’s a controlled environment with restricted movement. I am here to tell you there is a better way, a more excellent way. It’s called love flowing through intimacy. There it is. The prophetic needs to mature and mature we shall do. Why? Because I desire to prophesy over people and nations and situations. And in this desire I want my focus to be Christ in all ways. Foundationally we are getting it right and as we do, the river will flow and flow and flow. It’s all about Jesus. Here’s a great prophecy from Paul. When words did not cut it and when all He knew and saw and experienced was Christ, he let loose.

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written: “ For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:35-39 NKJVS)

As we realize that love conquers all – our heart, our lives – nothing will stop us from prophesying when the focus is on the ONE in whom we live move and have our being.

Creative Expression – February Is A Turning Month!

PaintbrushFebruary is a ‘turning month”! I kept hearing this over and over in my spirit for the past month. It was confirmed this past weekend in Canada. I had a glorious time of refreshing. Thanks, God, for this Holy Spirit ordained trip from start to finish. My journey in February is a creative journey, step by step, led by Holy Spirit into a personal breakthrough in life, going from glory to glory, faith to faith.

A man’s heart plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps. (Proverbs 16:9 NKJVS)

In my other blog posts  and other blog posts, and still other blog posts about Holy Spirit led movement, I have discussed how our lives are creative expressions of His rhema word to us – His word in which we live, move and have our being. So, as God said, “February is a turning month”, I must first acknowledge I hear His voice prophetically and then I respond to His voice with obedience to walk in the reality of that word, step by step, revealed and laid out by Holy Spirit. That is called Prophetic Lifestyle and it is our Christian life.

So, this journey led me to Canada for  the past 5 days – Calgary to be exact – where I spend it with a good friend Theora. (By the way, Wooo-hooo, congrats for that gold win in the Olympics in hockey.) From stepping off the plane, I acknowledged that God was totally ‘in’ this trip, since He ordained it, so instead of trying to figure out the plans and direct my own steps, we simply followed Holy Spirit, in the rest of God, with eyes wide open to see and ears wide open to hear.

There was a woven thread through each meeting, each venue, each outing – Holy Spirit was that woven thread that was simply saying “Look, watch, observe and listen. I will confirm what I have been speaking to your heart.” And it happened. Here is a few examples.

Theora takes a great art class and so I attended and just sat in the back. At the end of the class, I began to see by Holy Spirit, that Sharon, the teacher, seemed out of sorts, a bit down and perhaps a bit discouraged. That sense led into a vision where I saw her changing her medium in art to a more vibrant style. So in laying on of hands, prophesying over her, encouraging and challenging her, she received the word with joy and gladness. I gave out of my spirit on this journey, breaking the attempt of the enemy to keep me silent. The turning was in process. Turning from years of living in a cave, to breaking out to BE in Christ, fulfilling destiny and purpose.

Our steps also led us to a particular home meeting where the leader had a specific word that shot like an arrow into my spirit, healing, restoring and renewing me as people laid hands on me, breaking years of ‘stuff’ that had built up in my life. It is indeed a ‘turning month”.

In a conference we attended while there, one of the first things the speaker said was that this “February is said to be a ‘turning month’ by many prophets!’ Over and over things like this happened. So, you see, I walked in the reality of the word given to me by Holy Spirit. And this is Holy Spirit Christianity – moving and living in the Spirit! My creative expression lived in His Word to me, and I moved out in obedience to see that Word to me come alive. The Living Word of Christ restored years that were dull and lackluster, placing me in His way, turning me to see that His promises to me and to you are real, true and alive in Christ. More coming………..

Creative Potential Released As We Gather In Christ

I am heading to Calgary to visit a friend, Theora. February is a turning month for me. My steps are ordered by the Lord in Holy Spirit, taking me into a new place. An extended invitation and an immediate acceptance leaves me in awe of all that God has planned for me. So will be taking a few days off from blogging and will be back soon.

When we gather in Christ, we need Holy Spirit. Each gathering has a creative potential in Christ as we follow the Spirit’s lead to manifest creatively through visions, prophetic worship, revelation, art, dance and more. Leaders led by Holy Spirit are like orchestra conductors, waiting to see the creative expression of the symphony in motion in and through God’s people. That requires trust and leaning into Holy Spirit. Christianity is creative and expressive in Christ.

PaintbrushBy His hand, God creates a path in front of us and as we follow Holy Spirit, we walk on that path. In most gatherings in Christ, as I have said numerous times, Holy Spirit is left behind and quite often leaders go on without even knowing they are moving by their design and not God’s design.

A few good articles to read and challenge us.

The Spirit Led Church

Why People Don’t Operate In The Gifts

I am resolute in my focus on these things. Why? In my own experience in ministry, I find as Holy Spirit leads, the atmosphere is creative, expressive and glorious, reaching out to touch the heart of people. Let me give you an example

Recently in a prayer meeting in Rivers of Eden, I saw the hand of God before me in a vision. He was holding a writing instrument and began to write in the atmosphere into which I was looking a simple word – SWIRLING!

TO SWIRL: to move around or along with a whirling motion; whirl; eddy, to cause to whirl; twist; any curving, twisting line, shape, or form.

As He began to write this word, this word in the spiritual atmosphere began to swirl itself, moving and taking on many multi-faceted colors before my spiritual eyes. These colors were infused within the word that I was watching form before me by the hand of God. God was creating something in the building that night right in the midst of His people. The Creator was creating and showing me His process in this in a creative way to me. And He was revealing it to me and watching over it to accomplish the purpose for which it was being sent. The word SWIRLING began to take on life. A creative flow from the hand of God began to flow through this word as the Lord was watching over His word to create something in the atmosphere for us.

Suddenly the word itself SWIRLING was touched by the hand of God and it began to shatter into thousands of pieces in what appeared to be beads that fell to the ground of the building that we have in Finland. When all these shattered pieces fell to the ground, they disintegrated before my eyes into the very foundation of our building.

What I began to discern was that what I was seeing before me was the hand of God revealing to us what He Himself was doing that night in the building. He was doing this in a creative fashion through a distinct vision, rather than choosing to use some other means of revelation. I kept pondering why this was taking place this way and then it occurred to me. The heart of ministry in Christ, for me, is to challenge people to BE the creative expresion of Jesus Christ. God is creative and He has drawn people into His creativity  that are creative expressions of His glory. He is calling forth the musicians, the dancers, the artists, the inventors, the entrepreneurs and more.  Blessed with spiritual vision to see and spiritual ears to hear a creative God and to step out in what they see or hear through the creative medium of music, art or dance, business, writing, photography and more – all to His glory. This is the cry of my heart. To see a creative God express Himself creatively through His people.

This particular night God began to reveal Himself to us by giving me a visual demonstration of what He was doing in our midst. Because He watches over His word to perform it, we then discovered that there was a SWIRLING of His glory that began to be among us as we danced with creative expression, prophesied about His glory using verbal declarations in Scripture while our arms moved in a swirling motion through the atmosphere. I can go on and on. I pray that you get the picture here.

God can and will use many different creative means of expression in the days ahead to bring forth the creative expression of His glory. We have seen such a small measure of it up until this point. I have always known that Rivers of Eden was being formed by the hand of God all these years and I was, so many times, unable to define or explain it other than to say that we shall see the creative expression of God in our midst. In other words the Word shall be preached in power and accuracy but the difference is that God will show us the medium – through the dance, through music or the arts. God has many ways of getting His point across. We don’t want to limit Him in any way but to allow Him to do whatever He wants to do in and through us.

Enjoy the Journey!
