God Weaves His Story Through Your Life

Enjoy the JourneySo often we can lose ourselves in the “Big Picture”, gazing at the horizon of what could be, what may be, or what will come. In doing that, we lose a sense of our purpose in the moment, in the now – discouragement or disillusionment sets in quickly.

Our lives are works of art, created in Christ, loved by the Father and walked out in Holy Spirit.

Look at your life. Look at the story God is weaving through all your experiences, good and bad. There is a picture God wants to show you so that Christ can live His life through you, uniquely and creatively. We are the story and we are the message of our life in Christ.

Take time to get alone to simply BE and allow the Spirit to minister to you and Jesus to speak to you.

What I was as a child, I am now – creative, spontaneous, loving adventure……….Jesus says that we are to be like children in our faith. To believe that we walk out the mysteries of His love and grace day by day.

As adults, we lose this sense of wonder along the way due to life’s pressures along with many other things that come against us and try to destroy our wonder and innocence in the beauty of Jesus.

Childlike faith moves out in simplicity and trust as Holy Spirit leads the way. I think perhaps we need to look back upon our lives as children, not to focus on all the pain, wounds or our negative feelings about what our parents did or did not do……….forgive and then allow the Lord to reveal to you how you are made, who you are, and why you are in such a time as this……….what was taken away due to life’s ongoing pressure is now coming alive in Christ. What’s your story? Look carefully and see all the little things that make you…….YOU.

Before I formed you in the womb I knew you…Jeremiah 1:5

For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made…..Psalm 139:13-14

We Are Not Producers – Nate Pyle

Enjoy this great blog post by Nate Pyle – We Are Not Producers

Lately, the words have been harder to come by. So many times I’ve showed up at my computer, cursor blinking, and sat staring with a hollow mind. The words used to come fast. I could knock out a blog post in under an hour. Writing wasn’t the problem, finding the time to write all that I wanted to write was the problem.

cropped-1images.jpgWriting was easier before I was a “writer.” I was a pastor with a blog. Not a popular blogger. Not an author. Sure, I was writing, but I sure as hell wasn’t a writer. A writer knows how to use a semi-colon and, let’s be honest, those are more mystifying to me than the question of predestination. No, I was a guy with some thoughts and an internet connection. Not a writer.

Then I wrote a book and became a writer.

Have you noticed that success can sometimes be your worst enemy? When no one is noticing you, it’s easy to go about your business. It seems like it is easiest to do your best work when no one is looking, but the moment you get noticed, the moment people begin paying attention, there’s a new pressure. I think this is true whether we are talking about writing, painting, starting business, or teaching. Success changes how we approach what we love to do. There’s an expectation to keep doing what you’ve been doing, but with a new intensity. A greater consistency. Along the line something shifts, a subconscious transition that morphs the desire to create into the burden to produce.

Producing is very different than creating. Creativity is an act with intrinsic value and joy. Producing is an act that has value only because someone else has deemed what you produced has value. You don’t produce simply for the love of producing. You produce to sell. To market. To get shares. To gain follows and grow a platform. You don’t create for those reasons. God didn’t create the world to gain a world that would worship him. God created because he loves. God created because he is the Creator. And we, created in the image of the Creator, are to create for the simple joy of the act of making something new.

We are not producers, you and I. We are not what we produce. We are not even what we create. I get caught up in believing that lie. In my head, I know that I am not the crossed off items on my to-do list, but damn if I don’t feel better about myself when I’m crossing things off the list. In my head, I know I don’t have to produce to be worthy of love, but man I feel anxious when I haven’t published something in a while. I know sabbath rest is good for me, but it just makes me feel like I’m lazy.Somewhere along the way I became a producer, with my worth and my value tangled up in the value of a product.

A producer finds their identity in what they produce. They find their value in the value of their product. Which is horrible to think about since a product’s value is based on the demands of a fickle market. Think about letting your identity be determined by the same people who made the Snuggie popular. No thank you.

We are not producers.

We are creators.

As creators our identity is not in what we create or in people’s appreciation of what we create. No, we are simply creators because we are made in the image of the Creator.

So today, show up. Do what brings you joy. Do you love to write? Write. Love to cook? Cook. Do you love to figure out marketing strategies for your business? Then do it with joy. Do you love to teach? Then show up as a creator.

Whatever you do today, enter into the full joy of doing that thing for the sheer joy of doing it.

Nate Pyle – From One Degree To Another

From Debra: I want to share blogs that resonate with my heart, bring life to my spirit, and confirm the journey in Christ that I am on right now. This blog touched my heart. We are not producers but creators because Jesus Christ in us is the hope of glory. He longs to express His unique beautiful glory through our lives as we are the creative expression of Christ Jesus in the earth right now.

Joy For My Remnant Bride

Prophetic Word
Joy for My Remnant Bride
Linda Patterson

JesusMy Remnant Bride even as you have been tried and tested throughout the long winter season, My joy is about to chase you down. You have proven faithful and true and now I am going to elevate you into places of authority in your PROMISED LAND. What has looked like an unclear, hazy picture will suddenly be sharp and clear. Many questions will be answered as I wash away misunderstanding and confusion that has been in the hearts of family and friends, as they have observed your life and times.

Waves of joy shall radiate through you and wash over onto family, friends and fellow workers and out into the harvest fields. JOY and DELIGHT shall run together as a golden thread throughout the nations. It will be an antidote for the sorrow and despair that WAR will bring in the days ahead. Lift up your heart to Me for truly your morning is here.

Isaiah 51:11
The ransomed of the Lord will return. They will enter Zion with singing, everlasting joy will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will overtake them and sorrow and sighing will flee away.

Moving Through Time – At God’s Pace

In this season, I find myself gliding through time observing and watching the moments- without an internal presumption of want to know or need to know. Often there is little interaction as situations swirl around me. It seems I am restrained from fully seeing but instructed to just keep on moving, keep on observing. Don’t speak…….yet.

I was always in a hurry in times past. Where am I going? What does this mean?  I loved to move to my own beat, my own sound. I always wanted to see and to know, NOW. I grabbed each moment and formed a life picture, in my own wisdom and strength.

Remind myselfLately, God slows me down and says, “Enjoy the journey and be amazed!”

Moving along what seems to be a slow conveyor belt, I adjust myself to this slower speed, taking in all the details I would miss if I determined to form time my own way. Anointed by the hand of God, time itself only lays down bits and pieces of the journey. I apprehend moments with a sense of awe and wonder. As discontent and frustration leaves me, life is getting a bit easier. Funny to say that now, in a time when chaos abounds throughout the earth. Yet inside myself, I am slowing down to see and to know what is behind the facade of the times.

He is not giving me the full picture. It’s not supposed to be that way. I see a little bit here and little bit there, trusting Him every step along the way.

Peace settles into the journey displacing any confusion or fear. Slowly, time reveals the beauty of moments, one at a time, forming a picture of fullness right before my eyes. Ah! Now I see. Now I know. Enjoy the journey in Holy Spirit.

ListenGliding through time is necessary in a fast-paced world that is built on a chaotic shallow foundation. I don’t fight this. I want to go deeper in a revelation of Jesus Christ. I am in a hurry. He is not.

Relish this time! Savor it. Don’t waste it.

What transformation is taking place within me? An increased sensitivity to Holy Spirit. Wisdom to discern and interpret the times. To know when to move, when to be still. When to act instead of react. How to move in sync with Jesus in time in Holy Spirit. And…so much more.

Alternate Routes – Walk This Way

PaintbrushAlternate routes – another way to go rather than the one currently traveled on in order to arrive at our destination.

I journey in Christ, His way, His path for my life. Often I get so set on the path that I forget about the journey. The journey in Christ is more important than a focus on destination. It is in the journey that I grow and mature in faith, hope and love.

What happens when I focus on the path, walking my way when I suddenly hear Holy Spirit whisper, “Alternate route. Change of plans.” What then?

Here’s what happened to Paul in the book of Acts:

They went to Phrygia, and then on through the region of Galatia. Their plan was to turn west into Asia province, but the Holy Spirit blocked that route. 7 So they went to Mysia and tried to go north to Bithynia, but the Spirit of Jesus wouldn’t let them go there either. 8 Proceeding on through Mysia, they went down to the seaport Troas. 9 That night Paul had a dream: A Macedonian stood on the far shore and called across the sea, “Come over to Macedonia and help us!” 10 The dream gave Paul his map. We went to work at once getting things ready to cross over to Macedonia. All the pieces had come together. We knew now for sure that God had called us to preach the good news to the Europeans. (Acts 16:6-10 Message)

The Holy Spirit speaks words of life, often giving us a new directive from heaven. Sometimes we understand, Sometimes we don’t. Sensitivity to hearing His voice and obedience to His way is what is important at that moment. We often face alternate routes in life. Enjoy the journey

We hear, “Change of plans!”

Our mind immediately rushes in to rationalize the new directive. This is often just fear. Is this you, God?

Our wisdom kicks in to discard any notion of an alternate route, justifying all the hazards in changing plans at that moment.  This again is often just fear.

There are many logical reasons to not follow through on this new way. Yet I am not talking here about logic but about the voice of the Spirit. In these times, many think this is crazy to hear the voice of God yet alone to act on it. Others think it is too far out to respond to the whispers of God. Today I am talking to those who are in Christ, who have relationship and growth in maturity in our lives. Today I am challenging many that a change of plans may be coming our way.

Be still, know His voice, and then respond to a change of direction, an alternate route.

Perhaps it is a road less traveled…….less crowded……..follow Holy Spirit. There is a voice behind saying, “This is the way, walk in it.”

One step out, then the next step and the next step…………it will be clearer and clearer with each step but if we don’t step out in faith, we don’t know.
