Anchored In Deep Water – Prophesy!

15956556195_55a183cc36_zFloating in deep waters – my feet can’t touch bottom – the waves bring me up and down. My supernatural anchor, the core of my being, the focus of my life and ministry – Jesus Christ. He keeps me here. He is my divine anchor in deep waters. He anchors me to Himself so that I may know him and the power of His resurrection. Are you called to come out? Are you? Then catch the current and ride out to that place in Christ where He is your all in all. The depths of Christ call to you – explore and journey into His person.

Great quote by Frank Viola From Jesus Manifesto: Restoring the Supremacy and Sovereignty of Jesus Christ

Christians have made the Gospel about so many things – things other than Christ. But Jesus Christ is the gravitational pull that brings everything together and gives it meaning. Without Him, all things lose their value. They are but detached pieces floating around in space. That includes your life.

The prophetic seems to disregard the finished work of the cross. Read some words that are floating around and listen to the current beneath the words. There seems to be striving to achieve something, pressing to get to somewhere, or surrendering to catch God’s attention. There is always a sense of movement into something to foster an atmosphere of pressing, pressing, pressing. It seems that during all this Jesus says, “Enter my rest.’ Yet all around the prophetic mantra seems to say, “Keep moving. Keep pressing. It’s here. It’s here.”

No more for me. I choose to anchor myself in the deep to the one and only – Jesus Christ. From that place of rest and peace, there forms within me a prophetic word of declaration of what is, the now of Jesus Christ. He forms my declarations. He fashions my prophetic being so that His testimony flows through me the spirit of prophecy is alive and flowing.

There is no lack in Christ; He finished it all on the cross. There is rest and peace in the midst of chaos. Therefore prophetic words should equip and challenge people to realize their identity in His person. In Christ we have all that we need so we simply draw upon that reality through the indwelling Holy Spirit and off we go into revelation that is centered, grounded and moving in Christ. The finished work of the cross is perfection in all ways. We enter into that perfection in Christ and prophesy from that perfection which greatly changes and transforms us.

As demonic assaults come and go, we rest in Christ. We counter every assault with reality – Jesus Christ – our High Priest, our Intercessor, the Lamb that was slain before the foundation of the world, our stronghold, our strength in time of need, our comfort, our healing, our restoration, our renewal, our power…and on into infinity. He is the well that never runs dry. I pray you catch this revelation. Turn your focus on Christ. That will be mine now and in the coming days.

Let prophetic words GO that are coated in striving, subtly keeping people focused on process –

You are getting there……….where?

Surrender, let go……..what?

Press in more and more and more……..how? To who?

What is the focus in all of this? Christ or the prophetic itself?

The sound of prophetic words spoken from the depths in Christ bring forth Person not Process.

Sound Waves From MouthListen by the Spirit to what I am saying……tune into this reality. I speak to the prophets, to the prophetic rising up in people, to the sound flowing in these times from the deep waters.

Meditate on Jesus Christ.

We look at this Son and see the God who cannot be seen. We look at this Son and see God’s original purpose in everything created. 16 For everything, absolutely everything, above and below, visible and invisible, rank after rank after rank of angels––everything got started in him and finds its purpose in him. 17 He was there before any of it came into existence and holds it all together right up to this moment. 18 And when it comes to the church, he organizes and holds it together, like a head does a body. He was supreme in the beginning and––leading the resurrection parade––he is supreme in the end. From beginning to end he’s there, towering far above everything, everyone. 19 So spacious is he, so roomy, that everything of God finds its proper place in him without crowding. 20 Not only that, but all the broken and dislocated pieces of the universe––people and things, animals and atoms––get properly fixed and fit together in vibrant harmonies, all because of his death, his blood that poured down from the Cross. (Colossians 1:15-20 Message)

Leave the Old Testament for a while and meditate on the new – John, Romans, Ephesians, Colossians, Revelation. You can go back to it later when you are able to see Christ in it. We must perceive the reality of Christ in the Old Testament. He is the divine thread weaving His person from beginning to end.

I am currently reading Jesus: A Theography by Frank Viola. Wow! That’s all I can say. Everything else has been laid aside. When I hear the sound of any prophecy that does not anchor back to Jesus and the finished work, I simply move on and put it aside. There is a depth in Christ waiting to be explored so hold on…..it’s going to be glorious ride.

If you read Scripture in a way that doesn’t point to Christ, you don’t have Christianity, you have religion. Jesus is God’s language. When God wants to communicate, He does so through His son. Frank Viola

Off I go – into the flow of His revelation so that I may speak of His glory and grace to a generation ready, so very very ready to SEE Christ, to KNOW Christ and to be formed in Him. Nothing else but Christ and Christ alone……He is enough. One more quote:

If the church does not REORIENT and become Christological at its core, any steps taken will be backwards. Frank Viola

In other words, I will reorient my direction, in life, in ministry and recalibrate the reality of Christ being my anchor in deep waters in the power of Holy Spirit. So much more coming……

We leave in a few weeks to minister for 12 days in Poland – Gdansk, Elblag area. If you are reading this from anywhere near in Europe, I would love to meet you. And if you want us to speak at your gatherings, no matter how big or small, just ask, okay? We are going out in Christ to bring the Good News to those whom God has prepared beforehand for us.

Christ All In All Flowing through the Prophetic

Though she be littleAgain, I want to reiterate that my purpose in writing this is quite simple. The Message says it so beautifully.

Colossians 1:15-20
We look at this Son and see the God who cannot be seen. We look at this Son and see God’s original purpose in everything created. For everything, absolutely everything, above and below, visible and invisible, rank after rank after rank of angels––everything got started in him and finds its purpose in him. He was there before any of it came into existence and holds it all together right up to this moment. And when it comes to the church, he organizes and holds it together, like a head does a body.

He was supreme in the beginning and––leading the resurrection parade––he is supreme in the end. From beginning to end he’s there, towering far above everything, everyone. So spacious is he, so roomy, that everything of God finds its proper place in him without crowding. Not only that, but all the broken and dislocated pieces of the universe––people and things, animals and atoms––get properly fixed and fit together in vibrant harmonies, all because of his death, his blood that poured down from the Cross

To this end, I labor in writing this blog – so that Christ alone is glorified. It is quite evident to me that a birthing is taking place in my life. Without writing this, I could stay pregnant forever in my silence. That is something I simply will not and cannot do. So, I write and process as best as I can.

The simplicity of Christ and the preeminence of Christ are essential now and in the days ahead. Many can and do talk about God with nebulous words and phrases. Yet, God made it all real in Christ and joins us to Him in our salvation. It is to that end that we prophesy – to glorify the Son. So, let’s begin to set our sights on God’s eternal purpose in Christ and let prophecy flow from that reality.

On this journey writing about prophetic transformation, let’s talk about the word ‘revival’. This quote below pretty much sums it all up for me. All I can add to it is simply ‘Selah’.

What we have called revival, the New Testament calls Christianity. Jonathan Welton

How many times must I continue to hear that God is moving, God is shaking, and revival is stirring in specific locations and locales? Over the years I have frequently heard that THE hot-spot for revival will be Texas, California (south to north and south again), New York’s tidal wave tsunami flowing over the States, Florida, Alabama, Colorado, etc, etc. etc.

Why is it necessary to quantify the word ‘revival’ to add to its credibility? We feel we must name ‘names’ and speak of how many are flocking to these places, conveniently placing pictures on Facebook or Instagram of people slain in the spirit lying at altars.

Then, we additionally mention more iconic names that spark revival fever. In addition, we relay information about upcoming conference venues seeking to maintain this move of God. We just need to quantify a spiritual reality. Does anyone else think this is immature on our parts? It seems like a group of children showing off their new toys.

But we don’t stop there. We may even further quantify our statements by speaking in superlative tones, which exalt the manifestations of gold dust, angelic appearances, fire or wind. We again then quantify the number of healings and salvation. This leads me to believe that we think more is better, grander, highly favored. The masses then respond with awe and reverence at the event, the people, and the conference.

I can’t be silent. I want to write about a need for prophetic transformation – transformed in His glory, gazing upon the face of Christ and then speaking forth. In wisdom, I believe subtlety is better and displays wisdom in our Christianity. Why do we feel we need to always prove something when we have SOMEONE? Where two of three are gathered, He is in the midst and there is power, authority and even this thing call revival. I believe ‘revival’ has been almost deified in and of itself, taking the focus off of Christ. Not always, of course, but I am determined that we focus on Christ and Christ alone so that we may encounter the days ahead with authenticity, honor, grace and glory.

Let’s change our foundational belief. Revival is not ‘out there’. Revival is normal Christianity flowing through my life in the power of the Spirit. Christ is in me. What more do I need? I live, move and have my being in Him.

Then, let’s get rid of any quantitative, superlative language that seeks to hype up the emotions and lead people to believe something is the end all, be all – something they need and can’t live without. So in essence, we do not need revival outsourced and tied to our emotions to respond to some iconic ministry or conference. We simply need to believe what the quote says above.

Revival is New Testament Christianity, Christ in me, and my union with Christ – that is a consistent flowing of life from my belly in the power of the Spirit. All of us. Selah.

Though she be littleThere is so much more flowing from me regarding prophetic transformation. I am a little voice, as I heard someone so aptly say on Facebook the other day. Yet I remember what the jockey said in the movie Seabiscuit, one of my favorite movies. It’s a quote from Shakespeare.

Prophecy in the Way called “It Is Finished!”

To repent is to change your way of thinking. There is a barrage of noise out there that continually prompts us to repent to produce right action in our lives to be more acceptable to God. The focus is on the right action as opposed to what we already have in Christ – right being. To strive to be better in order to receive God’s approval negates the finished work of the cross.

How does one repent to be better? Do I run to altar calls consistently challenging me to cry out, to pray more, to work more, to study harder in order to present myself approved before God? That is a way and that way is called “never enough.” I used to walk that way. I prophesied from that way – into people’s lives, into churches, into nations, into everything around me. Why? Because my own path was forged on a way called “never enough” – never coming into the revelation of God’s grace in Christ in the finished work of the cross. My journey is changing day by day in Christ’s unfolding revelation to me and through me.

To repent is to change your way of thinking, not to produce moral action or improved behavior but first and foremost to change my way of thinking about Christ Jesus. Who He is. What He does. How He moves. How He lives. The reality of God’s love in Christ that flows in my life in Holy Spirit. A glorious salvation – my life in Christ. To repent, to change my way of thinking in Christ will bring transformation into my life.

I can only prophecy from this way called “It is finished.” Jesus is the Way. This way is the person of Christ, the way of life in Christ and He Himself is the path that is every expanding day by day. This way does not look for more to do, greater ways to achieve, and more ways to be accepted. This way walks in the unforced rhythms of His grace.

Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me––watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill–fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly. (Matthew 11:28-30 The Message)

On my pathway out of religion into an awakening to know Christ, I see a pattern. I don’t want to know about Him or what denominations say He is through ascribing to selective doctrines. Not to even know Him through a constant mixture of grace and law, which dominates the prophetic on many fronts. First, I eschew all the notions of becoming or striving, which propels me into a constant whirlwind of receiving based upon my performance. I simply walk in seeing Him, Christ Jesus and in knowing Him through a revelation of Holy Spirit.

However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you. (John 16:13-15 NKJV)

In this reality of grace and glory, I then begin to see and take hold of purpose, plan, passion and path for my life. I am created to BE in Christ and to flow in His workmanship for my life, in that order.

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. (Ephesians 2:10 NKJV)

My prophetic voice is changing. I prophesy while walking in the Way of the person of Christ. It is a way called “It is finished.” That is the Good News. How am I starting to walk in this, sloughing off all religious mixture of law and grace? I simply focus on Jesus and filter all I hear, read and see through Him.

I am personally mediating on God’s eternal purpose in Christ, and therefore in me. Where do I flow from that eternal purpose in time? How do I prophesy that life into other people, aligning their life with this reality? How do I walk this out as I manifest His grace and glory through my life?

Let me give you a simple example. Hopefully it will not be askew or off course but this is how my mind thinks. I think of Apple – my MAC, my iPad, and my iPhone – all in sync. Apple soars into the realm of impossibility and hopefully will continue to do that. Its employees, for the most part, seek to be involved and integrated into something bigger than themselves. They have passion and purpose and direction. Why then, if this is possible for Apple, do Christians get earth-bound, needs based, bogged down into religion rather than walking in the reality of someone infinitely greater than any earthly kingdom can build? As Christians we must dream and launch out into risks and live in the Spirit. There is eternal purpose in Christ but how do I see it when I am bogged down by the mundane that is currently pervasive in Western Christianity?

To me, who am less than the least of all the saints, this grace was given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ, and to make all see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the ages has been hidden in God who created all things through Jesus Christ; to the intent that now the manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the church to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places, according to the eternal purpose which He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord, in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through faith in Him. Therefore I ask that you do not lose heart at my tribulations for you, which is your glory. (Ephesians 3:8-13 NKJV)

Prophecy will flow from within me as I walk in the reality of the expanding revelation of God’s eternal purpose in Christ Jesus. I am just getting started here. Isn’t it time we look outside of our circumstances, our situations, our own earthly lives and gaze upon Him who will give meaning to it all? I am moving out of prophetic mixture into grace and glory. Consumed with Christ. Still moving, still processing, enjoying the journey.

In Christ,
Debra Westbrook
