Anchored In Deep Water – Prophesy!

15956556195_55a183cc36_zFloating in deep waters – my feet can’t touch bottom – the waves bring me up and down. My supernatural anchor, the core of my being, the focus of my life and ministry – Jesus Christ. He keeps me here. He is my divine anchor in deep waters. He anchors me to Himself so that I may know him and the power of His resurrection. Are you called to come out? Are you? Then catch the current and ride out to that place in Christ where He is your all in all. The depths of Christ call to you – explore and journey into His person.

Great quote by Frank Viola From Jesus Manifesto: Restoring the Supremacy and Sovereignty of Jesus Christ

Christians have made the Gospel about so many things – things other than Christ. But Jesus Christ is the gravitational pull that brings everything together and gives it meaning. Without Him, all things lose their value. They are but detached pieces floating around in space. That includes your life.

The prophetic seems to disregard the finished work of the cross. Read some words that are floating around and listen to the current beneath the words. There seems to be striving to achieve something, pressing to get to somewhere, or surrendering to catch God’s attention. There is always a sense of movement into something to foster an atmosphere of pressing, pressing, pressing. It seems that during all this Jesus says, “Enter my rest.’ Yet all around the prophetic mantra seems to say, “Keep moving. Keep pressing. It’s here. It’s here.”

No more for me. I choose to anchor myself in the deep to the one and only – Jesus Christ. From that place of rest and peace, there forms within me a prophetic word of declaration of what is, the now of Jesus Christ. He forms my declarations. He fashions my prophetic being so that His testimony flows through me the spirit of prophecy is alive and flowing.

There is no lack in Christ; He finished it all on the cross. There is rest and peace in the midst of chaos. Therefore prophetic words should equip and challenge people to realize their identity in His person. In Christ we have all that we need so we simply draw upon that reality through the indwelling Holy Spirit and off we go into revelation that is centered, grounded and moving in Christ. The finished work of the cross is perfection in all ways. We enter into that perfection in Christ and prophesy from that perfection which greatly changes and transforms us.

As demonic assaults come and go, we rest in Christ. We counter every assault with reality – Jesus Christ – our High Priest, our Intercessor, the Lamb that was slain before the foundation of the world, our stronghold, our strength in time of need, our comfort, our healing, our restoration, our renewal, our power…and on into infinity. He is the well that never runs dry. I pray you catch this revelation. Turn your focus on Christ. That will be mine now and in the coming days.

Let prophetic words GO that are coated in striving, subtly keeping people focused on process –

You are getting there……….where?

Surrender, let go……..what?

Press in more and more and more……..how? To who?

What is the focus in all of this? Christ or the prophetic itself?

The sound of prophetic words spoken from the depths in Christ bring forth Person not Process.

Sound Waves From MouthListen by the Spirit to what I am saying……tune into this reality. I speak to the prophets, to the prophetic rising up in people, to the sound flowing in these times from the deep waters.

Meditate on Jesus Christ.

We look at this Son and see the God who cannot be seen. We look at this Son and see God’s original purpose in everything created. 16 For everything, absolutely everything, above and below, visible and invisible, rank after rank after rank of angels––everything got started in him and finds its purpose in him. 17 He was there before any of it came into existence and holds it all together right up to this moment. 18 And when it comes to the church, he organizes and holds it together, like a head does a body. He was supreme in the beginning and––leading the resurrection parade––he is supreme in the end. From beginning to end he’s there, towering far above everything, everyone. 19 So spacious is he, so roomy, that everything of God finds its proper place in him without crowding. 20 Not only that, but all the broken and dislocated pieces of the universe––people and things, animals and atoms––get properly fixed and fit together in vibrant harmonies, all because of his death, his blood that poured down from the Cross. (Colossians 1:15-20 Message)

Leave the Old Testament for a while and meditate on the new – John, Romans, Ephesians, Colossians, Revelation. You can go back to it later when you are able to see Christ in it. We must perceive the reality of Christ in the Old Testament. He is the divine thread weaving His person from beginning to end.

I am currently reading Jesus: A Theography by Frank Viola. Wow! That’s all I can say. Everything else has been laid aside. When I hear the sound of any prophecy that does not anchor back to Jesus and the finished work, I simply move on and put it aside. There is a depth in Christ waiting to be explored so hold on…..it’s going to be glorious ride.

If you read Scripture in a way that doesn’t point to Christ, you don’t have Christianity, you have religion. Jesus is God’s language. When God wants to communicate, He does so through His son. Frank Viola

Off I go – into the flow of His revelation so that I may speak of His glory and grace to a generation ready, so very very ready to SEE Christ, to KNOW Christ and to be formed in Him. Nothing else but Christ and Christ alone……He is enough. One more quote:

If the church does not REORIENT and become Christological at its core, any steps taken will be backwards. Frank Viola

In other words, I will reorient my direction, in life, in ministry and recalibrate the reality of Christ being my anchor in deep waters in the power of Holy Spirit. So much more coming……

We leave in a few weeks to minister for 12 days in Poland – Gdansk, Elblag area. If you are reading this from anywhere near in Europe, I would love to meet you. And if you want us to speak at your gatherings, no matter how big or small, just ask, okay? We are going out in Christ to bring the Good News to those whom God has prepared beforehand for us.

Excellence, Creativity, Innovation – This IS Christianity

Christianity is about journey and adventure. It is not static but dynamic. Corporately, we are to be overflowing with excellence and innovation as we tap into Christ in us – revelation abounds in the eternal realm AND we are seated in that heavenly realm.

When I walk into Starbucks, which I do quite often, I always feel good. I love the ambiance of the store itself along with the unity and positive attitude of the employees. I often meet people there and have wonderful times of fellowship. Even more than Starbucks, I love Apple stores. The other day when I took my Mac in, I kept gazing at the images of the new iPhone 6 on the wall. Its beauty and simplicity grabbed my attention. I turned to Marvin and said, “Do you see how they captured the shading on that picture? They had to tweak the picture of the phone in different ways to get that just right shading to make it look sleek and sophisticated.” I notice things…being visual many things catch my eye and I just gaze and get lost in the color, design and form. I now own an iPhone 6, trading up from my 4 – somehow I missed the whole 5-generation.

What about Christianity? Is it too much to believe that in Christ, we are on the cutting edge of innovation? Then, why aren’t we? Where are the innovators who have attuned their ear to heaven? Quite possibly, most have left the church because there is no room for innovation and creativity there.

I won’t go into a rant here but I believe that if some churches at large were compared to businesses, most would be bankrupt for lack of vision, finances and creativity. Or, they would eventually go out of business because they are knock offs of some other ministry or church and can’t sustain in this type of changing environment.

What to do? Open up to new things – movies that challenge, books that exude the life of Christ even when the author doesn’t know Him, friends that don’t want to have anything to do with Jesus yet you know they just don’t want what the church has shown Him to be………there are so many opportunities to stretch and live again. Jesus moved, traveled, flowed…that is why we are told to live, move and have our being in Christ.

Right now, I am reading one little book that is challenging my creative life in a big way. It is simple, but filled with life. Steal Like An Artist by Austin Kleon – 10 Things Nobody Told You About Being Creative. He gave an idea to ‘blurb about a book’ on a blog…I will be doing that tomorrow.

My Creative Flow:

Rise of the Machines – Human Authors In A Digital World by Kristen Lamb

God’s Astounding Opinion of You by Ralph Harris

The Well-Played Life by Leonard Sweet

Twitter – I deactivated FB for a few months. Loving the change of pace on Twitter. Went to You Tube to learn all about Tweet Deck, how to effectively use Twitter.

Movies: The Mockingjay – Part 1 – Loved it but it was different from the first two for sure. A bit slower perhaps in preparation for Part 2. I actually had a great afternoon watching the first two in order to catch up and remember.

Be bold. Be creative. Move out and live in Christ!

In Sync With Your Spiritual Senses – Part 3

Holy Spirit GiftsChristianity is supernatural – the Word and the Spirit. I walk in a natural world in a supernatural bent. To live in sync with my spiritual senses, I am not ‘on call’ as if I have to strive to BE spiritual. A lot can be learned from mentors, books, and conferences but the greatest teacher is Holy Spirit who reveals Christ in me, to me, and through me. I do not fragment or separate my spirituality into a section of time on my calendar as if it is external to me. He is my life and my outflow of supernatural life flows from this reality. I only have to learn, by Holy Spirit, to BE. From that being flows a glory of doing. This is where I am right now as visions and supernatural words are increasing in my life.

John 16:13-15
However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you.

Living and moving from a position of being seated in heavenly places does not take a concerted effort as if one would learn some new technique or skill. God ordained that we would learn to BE from times of intimacy with Him. I didn’t always sit at the feet of mentors, hoping to catch what they had and have it miraculously imparted to me. I had to learn, be teachable and then move out. To move in Christ, one has to walk more than sit – one has to move in faith, seeing what can’t always be seen and hearing what is being spoken from heaven. Walking in the spirit, for me, simply means that through times of intimacy (prayer, worship, meditation in His Word) there comes an outflow of life. All the rest flows in this river without giving much thought to it at times. From being in His presence, being in union in Christ, we flow in Holy Spirit wherever we are. I practice the presence of God.

When there are days when I find myself ‘out of sync’ with Him, I only have to stop, breathe and relationship is restored in the blink of an eye. It only feels like we have been ‘out of sync’ with Him, perhaps due to the world’s noise or daily interruptions. He never leaves us or forsakes us.

As I move in my day, I am learning to see and hear what Holy Spirit is saying to me, whether I am in worship in my office or at Costco. Some holy moments have occurred in my life in Costco.

Christ in YouWhile in Costco one day, my eyes were drawn supernaturally to a young woman, checking out, with a baby-sitting in her basket. The baby seemed to have some sort of problem but I could not discern at the time. I only knew that all I was doing was checking out in the aisle next to her when my spiritual eyes opened and God simply nudged me, “Do you see her? I want you to encourage her today.” I was present in the moment, not distracted by external noise – present in the moment in Christ.

There always comes a bit of trepidation and fear as God tells you to jump out of the boat. I have been walking in this way for years and my heart still beast faster as I step out in faith.  After all, who wants someone to come up to you and say, “God has a word for you”. I have also had people look at me as if I should be locked up. So, over the years, I learned to change my delivery to being naturally supernatural.

I had to wait outside Costco that day because her line was a bit slower than mine. Eventually she came outside. What to do? In a split second one decides to move in faith or stand in fear. I am a lion at heart and for the most part, I don’t mind looking like a fool. I gently stopped her and began to prophesy over her child and her.

The words, to me, seemed quite simple and gentle, but within her, they resounded like an earthquake. She stood, eyes wide open, with tears welling up. I can’t remember exactly every word I said,  but it had to do with what she was facing with her baby who, I believe had some type of challenge, whether autism or something like that. She began to cry and immediately said to me, “Come with me.” We moved over a few feet.  She then asked me to keep an eye on her baby while she called her mom. She began speaking to her mom about what I had just said to her and then promptly handed the phone to me.

As I took the phone, the woman on the other end began crying and laughing at the same time. She began to tell me that she had been praying for her daughter for years about all they had walked through as a family. Her daughter, so touched that God truly saw her, told her mom on the phone that a woman, sent by God in Costco, just spoke directly to her heart.

There was lots of joy that day on both parts. I never saw the woman again but I did not need to. I only needed to be obedient to Holy Spirit so that a life would be changed. I only pray that someone would do the same for me.

This is a simple story. Many of you have done this and more in your life. Bravo!! And many of you long to move out of a comfortable place of religion to walk in life. Be brave and courageous in Christ. Let’s let Holy Spirit breathe and flow again with spontaneity and surrender. Life is beautiful this way.
