Our Source In Love – Creativity

Our increasing awareness of such great love in Christ leaves us speaking in superlative expressions, just like Paul! There is nothing that can separate us from the love of Christ Jesus for us, for me, and for you.

Romans 8:35-39 35 Do you think anyone is going to be able to drive a wedge between us and Christ’s love for us? There is no way! Not trouble, not hard times, not hatred, not hunger, not homelessness, not bullying threats, not backstabbing, not even the worst sins listed in Scripture: 36 They kill us in cold blood because they hate you. When I think about Jesus Christ, I cannot help but be passionate about my expression in the revelation of who He is – His beauty, love, majesty, mercy, compassion, and so on and so on. My outward expression of a glorious inward reality of life in Christ – this is Christianity. This is creativity in life.

Right now, we may be veiled to His great love. Let’s open our eyes to see His great love for us through the finished work of the cross and His grace. Love is the source of creativity. Know Him and know His great love for you. Creativity will flow abundantly and beautifully in Christ as we live in the revelation of being in union in Him.

I want to emphasize that creativity flows from the Creator. In that, I am to be creative in Christ. In being creative, people are drawn to that love flowing through me because of the One who lives in me. I take no credit other than to enter into His love, receive this by the Holy Spirit and to move creatively in Christ. How to move creatively? Out of the box of confinement due to other’s opinions of you, their rejection of you, or their outright persecution of you. God loves you and accepts you. Out of the box of confinement to do or to be like anyone other than the one whom Christ created you to be. Creativity is flowing out to draw others to the source within you, Jesus Christ.

Each of us has a sphere of influence in life. Great joy will flow through our life when we find that in that sphere of the day-to-day, we can be conspicuously creative in our actions. It starts with the simple awareness that we are to be led by the Spirit in the ways He chooses to lead us. That means relinquishing our life to live in His life, the life of Christ. This is not dependent on our ability but on His life flowing through us. There simply is no reason for the Body of Christ to be stagnant, apathetic, or mundane. The only reason is simple and clear. Without Christ being the very center of all we say and do, we are off focus and ineffective. It’s all in Christ.

Walk This Way – Quotable Living

Visions, dreams, and revelations are part of my Christian walk in Christ. Today as I was contemplating what to blog about, I kept seeing a visual picture in my spirit that speaks to my heart. I hope it also speaks to you as you read this blog today.

Have you ever taken one step that led to another step that led to another step? You walk forward but you don’t really understand what is taking place at the time. Yet, you know that you know you have to go that particular way. In hindsight, I now ask myself “What would have happened if I never took that first step? Where would I be?” Thank God for His grace that repositions us through the beautiful sound of His voice that says, “Walk this way.” He is the master of course correction.

I keep getting this picture for me and possibly for you, too. I keep seeing many of us in a room, standing. All around there are beautiful vines that appear to be covering up some things. Suddenly the Lord says, “Look for the door!” Here I stand today, simply because I took that first step on a journey that started long ago.

I believe that one step can place me in a position to discover an open door that remains hidden to me if I did take that step. All around me, I look closely at the thick growth of vines. I seem to know that there is a hidden door somewhere amidst the vines. This door is small and obscure and can’t easily be detected through natural eyes, until I begin to search wholeheartedly.

God is definitely behind this game of hide and seek. He wants me to find that door so I may go through, crossing a threshold into a new place destined for me. Over the years, He consistently spoke to me, gently urging me to go right, then left, and then straight. Trust me, it did not always make sense. I kept thinking I was walking into a dead-end, but it was not. I see that now.

images-14When your move or shift your position, you see things you have never seen before just by moving over, up, or down. Something that was blocked is now in full view and we think to ourselves “Wow, I never saw that before!”

In the spiritual, many of us are constantly shifting our position and seeing Jesus Christ in new, fresh ways, unveiled by walking away from religion. In the process, because He is in the shift, we move up, down, over, or out. Something that was blocked is now in full view and we think to ourselves “Wow, I never saw that before!”

The process to that is long, sometimes discouraging, and even filled with regret, thinking we are heading one way, when God says to go another way. He is doing that so we don’t get caught in a rut and keep doing the same old thing day in and day out. At least that is how it is for our lives. I am excited about it. I am created for this adventure. God has been teaching me through this whole process. I think I am finally getting it. 

Can’t See the Forest for the Trees – Speaking from Outside the Walls

Stay in one place, spiritually, emotionally, or physically and your perspective can form into a type of tunnel vision.  We all need to come out and move around in life, in some way, in some form. When I moved out, I began to see. Now, do not assume that I will never go into a ‘church setting’. If you do, you are missing the point of what I am saying in this blog. My perspective on church, along with many other things, has changed and is changing. Here’s just a few.

The Bible – This is a book that I absolutely love. I see it as a book that reveals to me the person of Christ Jesus by Holy Spirit. It has layers of understanding and revelation given to us by the Spirit as He reveals Christ to us. It is not a book to be dissected and separated in a spirit of self-righteousness, giving religious laws and rules to live  a constrained and mundane  life. It is a person giving us His life flowing through us. This book can’t even be understood apart from the Spirit of God.

Prayer – This is not a platform given to me to beg, plead, coerce or manipulate God to hear me, as if He is deaf or unconcerned. This is a place of holy communion with God by Holy Spirit where I live  in a place of oneness with Christ in me. I agree with what He has already established in His word and through His life and thereby my life. I don’t agree that we need 24/7 prayer to cry out continuously trying to break down walls that already came down when Jesus died, was resurrected and ascended into heaven seated with God and with us in heavenly places.

6353435485_09f6e2abd4_zRevival – Revival of what? Christ is in us, the hope of glory. Hoping for that one day whereby something sweeps through a nation or a people, denies the reality that Christ is in us and we are called right now to walk in revelation, power, and authority. We have it now in Christ.  This word seems to be something people love to say, write about, think about and dwell in the possibility of, rather than to BE Christ to the world right where they are in life. This word, in my opinion, keeps people chasing after speakers and conferences. This word, denies the value of true discipleship and equipping to DO for God what the Holy Spirit directs us to DO in life.

Covering – Jesus is my covering. There is no man-made covering of denomination, organization, or religious establishment. I am covered in Christ – no gender or race discrimination. Christ calls me, qualifies me and places me in Him in the Body of Christ. I need nothing else but that in my life. Through life in Christ, relationships, accountability, and community will form through Holy Spirit, not through man’s wisdom or efforts.

Church – How to say this in a few words? Church is the moving, living, flowing life of Christ through a people living and moving in their salvation in Christ. It flows in Holy Spirit order. It can meet anywhere at any time as believers gather together. It moves in the reality of Christ, His person, His headship, His works, and His life. It is not dependent on a day to meet, or a place to gather, or a denomination to cover. Holy Spirit integrates us in the life of Christ as people gather of one accord in the simplicity and unity of the finished work of the cross and God’s grace. The whole definition of church is changing day by day. Church is moving out of form and structure and moving into a revelation of the union of Christ with His people. I do believe in equipping through Five-Fold leadership to see the saints mature. I believe in accountability, authority, relationship and discipleship in the Spirit and by the Spirit.

goldfish jumping out of the waterTithing – What’s to say? Since the day I came to know the Lord, I have given my life, my finances, my time and more. I don’t believe that 10% is a rule or law we should follow for it is based in the Old Testament. Jesus’s commandment of loving Him is greater than law. Therefore, to give 10% would be ridiculous. We give Him our life, our time, our finances, our future, our hopes, our dreams and more. Marvin and I have submitted our finances to God and we allow the Holy Spirit to lead us in giving. We don’t tithe, as the definition suggests. We do more than that. We give and give and give – in a generous spirit.

Last thought – Evangelism – Not taught but caught. I did all the ‘reach out, hand out, give out’ tract stuff. To me it was rote and unrealistic. Evangelism is based on the reality of our life, each of our lives, flowing forth in Christ, to the people that we come into contact with day by day. Once again, I believe there are evangelists in the Body of Christ. Yet, they can’t do it for us.  Our passion for Christ should flow out  to the world around us. When people are discipled by Christ through Holy Spirit, equipped to grow in maturity, have encounters with a living Lord, they will flow out. It is quite simple.
