Sonic Boom – Voices of Truth

1203783516_19b903a715_zI heard the Lord speak something to me many years ago that still rings true in my Spirit today. He said: “Sonic Boom”.

So what’s a sonic boom for those who may never have heard one?

When an airplane travels through the air, it produces sound waves. If the plane is traveling slower than the speed of sound (the speed of sound varies, but 700 mph is typical through air), then sound waves can propagate ahead of the plane. If the plane breaks the sound barrier and flies faster than the speed of sound, it produces a sonic boom when it flies past. The boom is the “wake” of the plane’s sound waves. All of the sound waves that would have normally propagated ahead of the plane are combined together so at first you hear nothing, and then you hear the boom they create. (www.howstuffworks.com)

The plane is moving through the air traveling faster than the speed of sound. This plane breaks the sound barrier and produces a boom when it flies past it. The boom is the evidence of the effect of the plane breaking the sound barrier. This sound is loud and penetrating. You cannot avoid hearing it.

As a little girl, growing up in Chicago, there were many summer days when I heard a sonic boom pierce the atmosphere above us and shake our house. I still vividly remember it, so much so that God brought the memory back to me today.

There’s prophetic insight here is we look close enough.

Sound Waves From MouthWhen voices of truth are sent forth by God, their words will flow from the heavenly realm, imbued with an eternal weight of glory. These words are light accompanied by sound, which will break the sound barrier here on earth and cause a sonic boom in the Spirit, which will impact the natural. These words won’t gather up before us, perpetually waiting for us to catch up. Instead, they will be energized with heavenly glory to move fast and furious into the earth realm so as to break through the natural course of events to impact the earthly with an eternal sound, an eternal reality.

As a company of people rise up to speak God’s words, words that are spirit and life, these words will be sent for a purpose from the eternal realm. According to Jeremiah, God watches over His word to perform it. It also says this in Isaiah:

Isaiah 55:11 So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. NKJV

Like that airplane, our words of truth in Christ break the sound barrier of the natural realm and fly faster than the speed of sound and produce a sonic boom in the spirit. When one voice is speaking, there is power. When a company of people called to speak truth in Christ speak, truth will shake, and agitate and dismantle whatever is in its path.

We often see a myriad of voices in the Body of Christ today bringing forth a sound that is birthed on earth and carries very little impact in the spirit. Words compete for attention and actually hit up against each other constantly in debate and argument. Words flow forth to defend positions and to enforce doctrine. Words also flow forth that are nebulous and vague with little substance.

God will empower our words more than we can imagine if we listen more than we speak.  (Read the Vision).  We are learning. We are listening. We are waiting to hear and speak words that hold wisdom, grace, authority, and life. I believe that I am in these waters with many of you, counting the cost to follow Jesus Christ obediently and wholeheartedly with all love and passion. Speaking the truth in Christ or saying nothing at all!

Chutzpah – Boldness, Guts, Nerve

Chutzpah- noun – audacity, cheek, guts, nerve, boldness, temerity.

Courage is desperately needed in these times. Courage to know when to speak and when to be silent. When to stay in the flow and when to stir it up in a different direction.

Wisdom fuels courage to move in power. Its sound resonates in power, crashing into current trends of conformity and tolerance.  Persecution suddenly shows up on all fronts to tear down what wisdom is trying to build up.

courageWhen one confronts in truth, those hiding within a comfort zone of lies, delusion, or ignorance don’t like being challenged. I like to stay engaged in the forefront of truth in Christ. I don’t follow current trends of thought that flow outside of Christ. They are nothing more than shifting shadows on the landscape of cultural conformity.

I always remind myself to speak truth in love and with wisdom. Anything else is easily discarded as background noise, pushed to the side. Aside from those always wanting to pick an argument or stir up division, people at least want to be listened to and respected. So truth in wisdom does not barging in, even though it may not be wanted. Truth stands right in the middle of lies and speaks forth a sound that is clear. Truth does not qualify, justify to prove a point. It is truth. Truth is the person of Christ and He does not need to prove anything.

The enemy, for many years, has tried to kill my voice and silence me on many levels. It was confirmed by a woman at a conference recently who came across the aisle, laid hands on me and confirmed this with the same words.

A voice for God is tempered in time to flow in wisdom, grace, peace and love. It took years to heal my heart, restore purpose, and form me as pliable and obedient in the hands of God. I am always in journey but I am a bit further down the road at this point. I am a truth speaker. The years have taught me how to say it right, expect opposition and stand strong, even in silence. Truth has this funny way of lasting amidst all opposition that comes against it.

All of us are meant to get into the flow of who we are created to be. Find the sound that God has placed deep within your being and don’t hold back. We truly are meant to be a voice, not an echo.

I am finding mine. Deborah in Scripture was an agitator. I have tried to be a nice girl, a good girl until one day God said to me “Stop being a good girl and be the woman I have created you to be.’

Amen to that. I like to stir it up and now I can do it with absolute love and mercy but stir it up nonetheless. This is a new day. Tomorrow’s post about Deborah in Scripture is a good one. Stay tuned.

The Battle Over The Spoken Word

There is a battle taking place over the spoken word.  People are picking and choosing their words so carefully to avoid offense and yet, offense is stirring on all fronts. When we pick and choose our words so very carefully, we actually can dull or dilute their meaning so as to leave them with little or no effect.

Voice Not An EchoSo often we speak and before we finally get to the point, we hide our meaning behind so many qualifiers that it’s hard to actually find the point. These qualifiers (excess words) serve to only diffuse the truth in an attempt to make everybody happy and satisfied with a sense of entitlement.

Too many games being played as people try to stand for all things and actually in doing this, we stand for nothing and the beat goes on. Speak the truth.

Speak the truth at all times or say nothing at all. And don’t fear man…….walk in wisdom speaking the truth found in Christ, at all costs. It’s actually worth it. We feel good inside when we know we have not compromised our core beliefs. Walk in wisdom also. That gives a double benefit in not only knowing when to speak but what to speak, the right words. .

Truth Will Set You FreeWisdom weaves a path as we speak truth. This path can be through the minefield of public opinion which will annihilate you with opposing words if you challenge any sacred cow. This path can be accusatory as people think your words are not loving enough, kind enough. Wisdom weaves a path and it is not easy but as I said, if you stand for everything, you stand for nothing. How desperately we need truth speakers that don’t hesitate to sound forth what is  necessary for these days.

What is truth, you say? Truth is embodied in the person of Christ Jesus who actually said that He is the way, the truth and the life. People are aghast, at times, at the brevity of that statement and what it truly implies. Truth? One way? Christ?

Yes. He said it. He meant it. It’s often said that to say something like that, one must either be a lunatic and liar or a truth speaker. I believe He is a truth speaker and my life centers on this truth. Jesus Christ.

There is a path of wisdom in speaking truth but even when spoken the best way possible, offense is on the rise, stopping up the ears of those who refuse to hear any side but their own.

Sounds Within Sounds – Speaking Truth, Bringing Healing and Confronting Contradictions Part 1

Heart MonitorA variety of sounds cross a threshold into my life on a daily basis. God anoints me in Holy Spirit to hear sounds within sounds and the discernment to know what people are really saying behind a multitude of words. He teaches me to walk in humility and grace in this, knowing when to speak and when to be silent and listen. Just because God shows me something, it does not give me the right to speak. Lesson learned.

Moving in this vein, I listen to what people are saying, and then discern the root of what they are dealing with in their life. Once discerned, prayers manifest which display God’s power and healing into the person’s life. This is discernment on an individual level, person by person. All of us in Christ should be moving to some extent in this way. It is normal Christianity.

As God forms my voice and my sound, I see something else happening in my life. My ear is being attuned to discern a sound that is coming forth in a larger wavelength, across a wider spectrum of people – a corporate expression of Christianity today. Many are answering a question: “Who do you say that I am?” How do we see Jesus? How do our words actually flow from our heart in who Christ is? Does religion veil His reality, His preeminence from us, trying to keep us imprisoned to Christ out there? ? Or is grace awakening us to Christ in me? Big difference.

As I check Twitter and FB, I often see trends or patterns as new sounds emerge through writing, videos and images. These new sounds can be shallow and trendy, without substance or meaning. These sounds take flight; people hook up to them and pass them on, never truly experiencing the reality of what they are saying. Quite often they are immature birthed from a need for reputation and image.  They can also be sourced in anger, fear and frustration flowing from a religious spirit. A lot is being said out there.

New sounds merge with old sounds. Some die a quick death. Some hang on and are espoused as truth even though upon closer inspection they are error. Some even create a movement in and themselves. We need wisdom and discernment. And, we greatly need the simplicity of Christ and the power of the Gospel, the Good News. Too much has obscured our vision and suppressed or even killed the voice of Truth in the person of Christ.

Hearing, on a larger scale, is being refined within me as I pray for God to clarify my voice as it flows from my life, removing any contradiction in my sound that would contradict the sound of heaven and the Kingdom of God. I constantly think about Jesus saying that His words are spirit and life. (John 6:63) I am listening carefully. What am I looking for in the Spirit? Who am I saying Christ is in the power of my words?

The prophetic flows in sound  and image – words, visions, dreams, dance, art, music. The prophetic needs an upgrade at this time into a clear sound flowing from being in Christ. Right now, I hear a lot of remix or mashup of past sounds just for something to say – words like revival, breakthrough, etc. Then there is also a dissonance coming forth as the Old Covenant is placed on the same level as the New Covenant denying the present reality of the finished work of the cross and Christ in us.

The Light Goes OnThe sound of the prophetic should actually move in a New Covenant reality, confronting the contradictions that permeate an old sound of religion or an old sound of mixture. An awakening of grace is here to stay and will only grow stronger in the days ahead. While moving in the prophetic, I confront contradictions. Why? To prove my point?  No. I confront any sound, which denies the preeminence of Jesus Christ, His grace, the finished work of the cross and New Covenant reality.

Have you noticed something?

Listen carefully as people talk, expound, argue, and ferociously try to defend their words. Listen to the sound of it all.

Simplicity sounds forth in resonance – rich, clear, full. This sound flows into us, imparting to us a deep knowing in Christ. These are words of spirit and life.

Religion always complicates and adds the extraneous and the externals to its defense. It is a dissonant sound, one that lacks harmony and is simply noise. It is essential that our spiritual hearing be fine-tuned to hear what may not apparent to many. Hear the sound within the sound.

Part 2 tomorrow.

A Clear Sound in Christ

TruthIntimidation enslaves us within a prison of fear where we feel threatened, bullied, harasses, and subdued. When words are used as a weapon to silence us, they paralyze and take our breath away. We gasp for air at times, losing our voice, losing our sense of who we are, what we believe. It takes courage to stand up for what we believe in. But, is there any other way? To constantly compromise by appealing to the masses leaves one divided inside, lacking unity and wholeness. To constantly look around before one speaks trying to step in sync with a current sound is not necessarily wisdom but a fear of man.

I am going to reference yesterdays blog – digging a little deeper in what she said in the first paragraph.

Speak the Truth
Frances J. Roberts

“Lo, I say unto thee, be not intimidated by anyone, but speak forth My Word, even as I give it unto thee. Ye have written freely and fearlessly. Now speak in the same way. Thy spoken word must be brought into conformity with the work I have done within thee. This ye need for your own personal sense of unity. This ye need for your own strength. For the house divided against itself cannot stand; neither can ye so long as ye bear one testimony in thine heart and another on thine lips.

In other words, speak the truth, no matter what it costs. And if you can’t speak the truth, t stay silent, waiting in wisdom for the right time rather than walk in presumption and end up in a war of words. It all goes back to when to speak and when to be silent.

The Truth Will Set You FreeWords frame our life – our own words (For as a man thinks, so he is – Proverbs 23:7) and those of others. Words are meant to build up, even if they are strong words. Wisdom helps us see what to take in, what to say, when to say it, and how to say it. Wisdom will not be silent and looks for those who can handle the heat in order to speak truth in the person of Christ.

Intimidation makes us cower and hold back and in the process, we lose ourselves and our voice. Not a good thing for any of us.

In my salvation there is wholeness, a unity in Christ, the life of Christ forming my life, my thoughts, my being. The Living Word  forms me in His image, imparts to me mind of Christ and transforms me in His divine nature. The truth (the person of Christ) sets me free. I am not a parrot and neither are you. His creative expression is to flow freely through our lives. Yet, look around? There is continual opposition to silence Christ in me, the hope of glory. So, what to do? Speak the truth despite the cost. Truth is in the person of  Christ. It is not vague and nebulous but contradicts the prevailing sound of the world, in true love, empowered in abundant grace.

Today, one’s voice can be silenced completely or lost amidst an ocean of information and social media noise. I believe that the sound of the Kingdom, moving contrary to the world while being in the world, will sound forth through many in this time. It is and will be a sound that will not cower when confronted by lies or deception. Truth is moving right through the lies and deception to forge a clear path in the midst of darkness. Truth in the person of Christ, the reality of His salvation and the message of the Kingdom is clear, filled with the fresh breath of the Spirit, and so contrary to the confusion today.  The world waits for a clear sound and many will be drawn to this clarity of conviction. But, we have to speak, know when to speak, how to say it and ultimately pay the price for our words. Many simply don’t want to hear it but who can resist speaking forth the glory of Jesus Christ.

Words overflow around us. Information increases in leaps and bounds. Opinions escalate and force their way in to be heard. Yet, truth is in the person of Jesus Christ – this sound will never be silences and can never be extinguished no matter what kind of opposition comes against it.

Speak the truth – not in quantity, but in quality of life that flows through us in Christ. This sound change nations, revitalize cities, transform people and raise up a standard of life in a death culture.
