Pursue Spiritual Realities

Peace in ChristSeated in heavenly places in Christ Jesus, my paradigm of life shifts, giving me clear spiritual vision. My position in heavenly places changes my earthly perspective. I learn to see a greater reality in the spirit than what I see with my natural eyes. In the midst of the world’s chaos, I live in the spirit, Holy Spirit. Spiritual realities contradict the world’s chaos. Where there is confusion, I have peace. Where there is fear, I have faith. Where there is anxiety and worry, I have hope – in Christ. I live from this place each moment of my life.

Live by impulses of the spirit – motivated to pursue spiritual realties. Romans 8:5 (Passion Translation)

Spiritual realities form the foundation of a life, flowing and living in the spirit – in the world but not of the world. Knowing that I am a spiritual being in Christ, my identity, purpose and destiny forms in another kingdom where Christ is King and Lord. I live, move and have my being in Him, outside of time and space, in the Spirit. Infused with life in Christ, I live in the earth, bringing His life and light to flow in my life while I am physically here. Eternal realities flow in and through me in Christ.

GlassesI am an eternal being in Christ. My life is hidden in Him. From that spiritual reality, I see with a new lens of spiritual sight. I am in time for such a time as this. I don’t escape the darkness of the world but I am not captured by its journey into deeper realms of chaos. My spiritual life is a way in Christ that I live, move and have my being right in the midst of it all.

Now, how does one pursue spiritual realities?

  • Listen to the voice of God. Above all, know that as a child of God, you can hear your Father speak to you. He sets your course in life. He takes you higher into purpose and destiny. His voice is right here, even in all the noise. Learn to listen.
  • Know that Christians are spiritual beings in Christ. Be aware and fully present in that reality, discerning not only the times but also the times in your day. Discern the spirits that are not Holy Spirit – fear, anxiety, or worry to name a few.
  • Live in the light of revelation and learn to discern the darkness so that when it attacks you know where it is coming from whether that is at work, at home or out and about in your day. Learn to pick up on what is going on in the spiritual realm at all times.
  • Ask Holy Spirit to fine-tune your spiritual senses. Talk to God. Pray in tongues. Learn to listen to Him as you are moving about your day so that you can move in prophesy, words of wisdom or knowledge. Be alert to know how to respond to people with words of hope and love. Also be alert to situations where darkness may escalate right before your eyes. The Spirit may quietly tell you to pray, to leave, or to take some sort of action.
  • Spend time with the Lord, times of worship and prayer. From these times of intimacy, glory saturates your life so that the light shines so bright that when moving throughout your day, the light of Christ penetrates the darkness and always overcomes it.
  • Discern, watch, and always listen with spiritual eyes and ears. Be contrary and contradictory in your Christian walk. How? Flow in an opposing spirit of humility, grace and love no matter what you face. This flow will bring down strongholds and barriers that present themselves along your path each day. The darkness cannot comprehend this type of heavenly strength and will flee, confused and dismantled.
  • Grow in wisdom and knowledge in the Lord through reading His word.

These are just a few thoughts for today. As a Christian,  learn to walk in a greater spiritual reality in Christ. Holy Spirit will teach you.

Creative Friday: A Visual Feast – Prophetic Artist Karen Martin

Welcome to 1st Friday and a Visual Feast. This blog, riversofeden1, flows in creative expression in Christ. For me that flows through words, stories, and prophetic insights. For others, like Karen Martin, creativity flows through art. Enjoy!

Karen Martin – Lover of Jesus, Artist, Music Teacher

For an artist, inspiration comes from many sources. I can see a beautiful flower, a pond filled with Koi or some simple pots. My vision immediately focuses on the beauty of God’s creation in many different forms. This stirs my spirit to create.

My abstract works are often painted during a church service. I focus on Jesus and ask Him to guide me in what He wants me to paint that day. At that point, I can feel both excited and overwhelmed when I realize that the whole congregation may be watching me through the process. I often ask myself “What if nothing of His glorious nature shows up on this canvas?” Then I realize that I have to get out-of-the-way and remember that He will guide my hand and my heart. I paint and trust.

Other times, God challenges me to feel His heart for certain issues. I focus on abortion or human trafficking. This stirs up my emotions for some time and then at some point, an image emerges in the conscience part of my brain that reveals the issue to me in visual form. “How do I do this?” is often the cry of my heart. I feel incapable of painting something so gloriously revealed with my existing skill set. So, the challenge is on. How do I paint what I see in my mind?

Art seems to be in my creative DNA in Christ. I started painting as a child. My creative pursuit of art is enhanced by many various passions and hobbies in my life. Marriage, family, teaching, acting, and music – they all enhance my work.

Painting is always a struggle for me to this day…but it is a glorious struggle where I place this gift in God’s hands and both of us flow together in creating something that will bring Him glory. He is the ultimate artist, isn’t He?

Whirlwinds of Glory

Tunnel_Of_LoveFor those ready to receive this, I want to put this out there. This vision is for those expecting to move into an abounding revelation and experience of God’s glory.

While in worship, I saw a woman wrapped in a swirling white whirlwind. The whirlwind was delicate, filmy, and translucent. As the whirlwind moved in a circular motion, there were living colors shooting out from the whirlwind. Reds, deep pinks, purples, orange and blue. These colors seemed to have a life of their own as they flowed out in all directions from the movement of the whirlwind.

What does one do with this vision? I can tell you what not to do with this. Don’t try to quickly understand it, package it and file it away on some shelf of our lives where there is order and balance. Don’t say “Oh that’s sweet!” or “What a great vision!”

Gaze upon it. Wait upon it to unfold in the power of Holy Spirit. Hold it ever so close to your heart knowing that what was seen will be revealed in its time. This is not a vision to comprehend through natural eyes but through eyes that gaze upon Christ so that His glory may be revealed in and through us.

Does your heart bear witness of this vision? Then take it and wait upon its unfolding revelation to your own life. I take it for my life and the outflow of the ministry of Rivers of Eden. That which is birthed in heavenly places manifests on the earth – thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. There is a great weight of glory that will flow through people that flow in  the creativity of Jesus Christ in His glory so that atmospheres change, lives are healed and people are set free.

It is a vision that celebrates ministers of glory, those willing to wait on God and to experience a divine shift in the spiritual atmosphere during any gathering where heaven manifests on earth. It is time to BE spiritual everyone. Why? Because we are spiritual. We are eternal beings in Christ here and now, living in the world but not of the world.

Heart on Fire for GodThe indwelling of the Spirit of Christ in us quickens us in many different ways to experience shifts in faith to believe and then to see His glory revealed in greater measure flowing through our lives. (Faith to faith, glory to glory.) This whirlwind is a shift in how we see, experience and interpret the spiritual atmosphere as God ushers in His glory through our lives. There is creativity in a glory atmosphere that cannot be controlled to fit into man’s understanding and wisdom.

This post? Well it speaks in a spiritual language to those who have ears to hear by and in the Spirit. Holy Spirit searches out the deep things of God and reveals them to us and through us. Those with ears to hear can take this vision and run with it, wait on it and see how it touches your life. These are words of spirit and life, not so much a teaching or a prophecy but words that can reach in and touch your heart. Are you in the whirlwind?

Transcendent Worship – Heaven’s Way

When worship becomes entertainment it ceases to be worship. Failing to engage the spirit, music then captures the soul realm, activating the emotions and falling far short of true worship. True worshippers worship in spirit and truth. How much of what goes on in churches today is true worship? I would surmise very little.

Tumult of LightTrue worship takes place in an atmosphere where control and manipulation is absent. There is no need to hype anything up. It is not a spectator sport where there is an audience taking it all in. True worship is where an exchange takes place and heaven manifests on earth. Leaders lay down their agenda and give full control to Holy Spirit.

True worship interacts with eternity. Worship flows from heaven to earth with accompanying signs and wonders, healing, restoration, renewal, and so much more. Worship is transcendent and flows in a transcendent sound.

Transcendent – to be above, independent of the universe and time; superior or supreme; going beyond ordinary limits; surpassing or exceeding; to outdo or exceed in excellence, elevation, extent, degree

Worship is spiritual – in the spirit, of the spirit, through the spirit. Holy Spirit flows through people, ordinary people who submit their mind, will and emotions to a heavenly interchange taking place in their midst as people gather.

Worship is filled with sound. Sound is accompanied by light. They flow together – sound and light. A transcendent sound emanates from heaven flowing into the earth realm from the throne of God. This sound, accompanied with light, is filled with His glory.

Burst of Light in GreenWorship electrifies the spiritual atmosphere, pushing back the powers of darkness. There can be a violent upheaval in sound that brings deliverance. There can be soft, gentle whispers and tones that captivate the heart and bring inner healing.

An eternal sound can’t be duplicated or processed through fleshly striving or attempts at human perfection. As people worship, the atmosphere is pierced with light, life, and glory.

When I visit churches, I find myself asking, “Where is this sound? Where is heaven manifesting in our midst?” God keeps showing me to look at His people. His sound is being birthed through a people, not a program. It is being birthed through a people, not a program, but a people filled with His glory.

When people of like mind and like heart come together, they bring forth the very sound of the Lord, Christ in them, the hope of glory.

The Lord is bringing forth a people who desire to come into agreement with His heart and bring forth His sound in the earth. It is quite simple. It is not a manufactured sound. It is a sound of the heart’s cry to know their Lord. And it is a sound that will bring the movement of the kingdom into our midst in greater and more glorious ways than we can imagine up to this point.

True worship is here, right now, as Christ in each of us explodes through hearts on fire to know Him and to experience His life in creative and glorious ways. May the church catch up with this sound that is capturing a people to know their God. May there be an intense dissatisfaction with song services that engage the flesh but never touch eternity. May we each arise today with a song in our heart that flows through our mouths into the spiritual atmosphere, touching the heart of the Father. There is so much to say about this but this is just a nugget of prophetic truth for today.

I will be speaking in Poland during the month of April. More details coming soon.

Worship – Deconstructed and Pure

Wide open deconstructed moments of pure worship that flow into purity of expression as we gaze upon the beauty of Christ. Worship in spirit and truth.

Sunset in the reedsBut the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. 24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth. (John 4:23-24 NKJV)

Fires ignited within us that burn while gazing upon Christ Jesus.

Lord, tear apart the formalities of our earthly understanding and let us ascend to worship on high…..in glory!

Set us in the midst of that broad place of freedom…..to live and move and have our being.

Places of opposition in our own lives that thrive on structural narratives of order that prohibit movement, freedom of movement in Holy Spirit…..tear them down through a revelation of manifested majesty.
